Missing GOLDFISH Cards

My Goldfish card arrived today!!:j
I was so amazed to finally see it, I thought I was hallucinating.
When I rang to activate it, the announcement said they were experiencing an unusually high volume of calls. I bet they are, with all the complaints!0 -
Just spoke to Goldfish again.
Managed to get a promise of a £5 credit but how pathetic is that?
Just looking forward to getting my CapitalOne card so I can cut the Goldfish into little pieces!0 -
I must say, Dot, that I've been feeling inclined to sever all ties with Goldfish and I have applied for a different card while all this has been going on. However, even if I get it, I never want to have only one card again after this experience. I'll have to make sure I have two (whether one is Goldfish or not) and I'm a bit worried I might have trouble getting more cards since I haven't got a mortgage and I pay my card off in full every month.
I gather that means I'm not the sort of customer the credit card companies want.0 -
Not quite the same issue but I bet it's linked - I have been keeping an eye on my on-line statement for a week. I want to make a couple of high value purchases and need to get the maximum interest free period. But Goldfish just aren't sending me a statement. I've had nothing at all for September. I've tried the call centre but the lines are always really busy and I've sent an email - but no reply.0

Well I just cancelled my goldfish CC because they offered no compensation to me because my card was late, sales person basically said they had problems since August, dont know when I get my card (ran out end of Sept)and wasnt interested.Put me through to an automated system to pay my balance (after telling me to cut up my card whilst I was on the phone)-duh stupid thing to do and couldnt use it anyway as it was out of date.
ive been with them since day dot,not a question asked why I was cancelling - they not botherered. Good bye goldfish0 -
Bah. Still waiting for my card43580

Violet - it's worth trying to apply for another card. I always pay my balance off in full each month (but I do have a mortgage) and got approved by CapitalOne straight away. If you have any problems it would be worth trying whoever you bank with for one of theirs as they'll know your credit history and may be more inclined to give you one.
I just Googled 'Goldfish' (as I've deleted it from my Favourites in anger!) and had to laugh at what came up as their strapline - "Great rates and great rewards. You can have it all with Goldfish"
Er...except a card that is!0 -
More on the problem with Goldfish/Morgan Stanley here in this Daily Mail article:-

I've just heard this one too. However. I've also just checked my birth certificate, and it still shows my date of birth as 10 June 1955, not yesterday. Perhaps we should send them all our empty plastic bottles, etc.The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -

Nice One Dot!
Thanks for the advice too - I have applied for the new Abbey card, but if I don't get it, I'm going to apply for one from from my bank. I thought I'd go for the Abbey first, because I like the idea of supermarket cashback. Since I'm saving up to move and trying not to spend too much, most of my credit card spending is (boringly) on food and other essentials at the moment!0
