  • Here is another very unhappy bunny! I have also called 3 times asking when my new cards would arrive and was told everything was ok. Today, with only 5 days left I was told, rather rudely, that my cards would arrive mid October. Also had transactions on my card which were not mine last month. I asked to speak to a supervisor but was told they would not speak to me because there was nothing they could do. I rang again and was told someone would ring me back ........ still waiting. Any suggestions on an alternative card?
  • I've had it with Goldfish and so has my wife - she called them to cash in her points (about 60,000) and 9,000 of them had expired because they were over 3 years old. We should have read the small print but didn't!

    Being careful not to get caught out, I telephoned Goldfish today to redeem my points. I forgot about the 0870 number being the expensive one (I get 0870 and 0845 mixed up) and was on for about 15 minutes. I probably pressed the wrong number but I ended up with a computer telling me my balance and how much I had available to spend, and then nothing. What a waste of time and money!!! Anyway, I've decided to let them know (by letter) that I've cut up their card and will be looking for another provider as I really can't be bothered with this really ANNOYING telephone messaging carry-on that every b*#*#y company seems to use these days.
  • Demon - mid October!! I hope I get mine before then - I'm expecting two: the original one that hasn't arrived and the new one I requested on Saturday. The operator said she wouldn't cancel the first one in case it did turn up (again a different story to the last operator I spoke to, who told me if he requested a new one for me, he'd have to cancel the one (supposedly) in the post)
    All these contradictions. What with mine and all your stories, I've really lost faith in Goldfish.
    Unfortunately, although I've applied for a different card, it's the new Abbey one with 5% cashback which appears to be so popular, people aren't hearing from them for weeks. I applied (online) on September 4th.
    If I don't get that, I'm just going to apply for one from my bank (Lloyds)
    In fact I should have just done that in the first place, I think - I'm just not that clued up about credit cards and although I regularly come onto MSE, I never read this forum before my Goldfish troubles!
  • To all those who have posted so far - many thanks. Its some comfort to know that I am not angry and disappointed on my own but then sad that we all have to suffer this way.

    I have received a £10 credit (checking online) so its worth reminding them during your next call just how much money you do put through the card and how many people you know who you can tell about the facts of your misfortune!!
  • Hello fellow Goldfish Card Holders,
    I have just got off the phone with Goldfish Customer Services, my card expires on Sunday night and I haven't received replacement yet (although received new pin number two months ago). I was told that I would get a card sometime in the first two weeks of October. I asked what they suggested I did until I received it, and was told I shouldn't just rely on one card. I was also told a letter had been sent warning me there might be a delay, but I have never received one, and after reading these posts I now believe no such letter was ever sent.
    The more I think about it the more I realise how completely unacceptable this situation is.

    I have phoned them again and i'm livid. I have been told that there is absolutely nothing they can do, they would not let me speak to a supervisor or manager and said I could only contact them be writing. The only information they would give is that the card will be with me sometime in the next two weeks. What else can I do?
    Obviously i'm cancelling the card when this is resolved, but can I get a new card before Monday?
  • I've used a Goldfish Card for years because of the loyalty points but I too haven't been sent a new card (existing one expires end of September) and they've told me I'll get it in a couple of weeks. No good to me as I use it all the time and make lots of regular payments with it, paying the balance off in full each month.

    So I've applied for a CapitalOne card which has a great cashback scheme (better than Goldfish's in fact) so am going to start using that and ditch the Goldfish for good.

    Suggest we all vote with our feet!
  • I've just done exactly the same thing and applied for Capital One cashback card. I still can't believe the Goldfish attitude though.
  • Well, i've now been without a credit card for a month - and I am sick as a parrot about it!
    I did receive my pin number (big deal) but of course, no sign of the actual plastic.
    I'm just relieved it's the end of the month and some money went into my bank account, which was down to almost 0 after having to use my debit card all month.
    Goldfish is a dirty word to me at the moment!
  • I too am in exactly the same position, my card along with that of my wife will expire on Sunday. My wife has spoken to Goldfish and they told her that they have no idea when we will get our new cards. We have been offered a £5 credit, I don't know whether this has materialised or not as I don't check my account online.

    My wife has sent an e-mail to Watchdog so it might be worthwhile some of you other guys doing the same...
