Security Issue with my car

I have no spare key for my car. The dealer I bought it from said he would send it a few weeks after I bought it, but he never did, and now I can't get hold of him, so now there is an obvious security issue. How do I stop the spare key holder entering my car and tampering with it, other than change the locks as this will cost a fortune

I would assume that on most modern cars the main dealer could remove the missing key from the ECU so that it couldn't be used to remotely deactivate the alarm or immobiliser - that wouldn't stop them using the key blade to unlock the door or steering lock though.

Certainly on my (2002) car the dealer can remove unwanted keys from the ECU, I guess this must be a pretty standard thing for cars that are newer than mine?

Wafty food. but then again, I wouldn't expect anything less from the spare key holder.
    Anyone else have anything useful

Its quite common for cars to have no spare key if they started life as fleet cars, the keys end up getting thrown away.

We've got a cabinet full of keys at work for vehicles no longer on the fleet.

    ???????

    Is there something I'm missing?

The answer was given, a dealer, or anyone with access to the security module can void all keys bar the one you have, but mechanically there is nothing you can do but change the locks except bung the outside keyhole up with araldite and use the keyless remote.

Or get the spare key back from whoever has it (but they could have cloned it at Timpsons.......)
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

The security module would normally be accessed using a specialist interface and software - often a main dealer only job, can sometimes be done by independent specialists or even by a private individual using a cloned interface and copied software.

It might even be possible that there is a way of doing this yourself without the above (using a programming sequence).

To get any sort of specific advice you really need to post the make/model/year of your car as the possible solutions will vary significantly. You might do better posting on a specialist owners forum for your car, though if so you might do well to lose some of your attitude if you want help.

Alternatively you could consider the "retro" option of using a krooklock or similar, though these don't offer much protection.

No, you need an expensive cable and special software on a laptop, the manufacturers diagnostic/programming tool or a very expensive equivalent e.g. SnapOn.

An auto locksmith may have the equipment.
