buying a 7 seater

I have been looking for a car for a while now but I am struggling to choose. I need a 7 seater and ideally a lot of boot space. I looked at the Partner teepee first and van type cars but there are so few around with 7 seats. Now i am looking at grand scenic, grand picasso, seat Alhambra and The VW touran. The latter two are more expensive so i will get an older car for my budget. I think they are longer lasting cars but not sure.
I want low tax and fuel efficient. ( probably diesel) But i am really not sure which car to buy.
I also dont know if i should buy from a dealer or independently?
My budget is 5000-6000 ish.
If anyone has any ideas, i would really appreciate it.
Thanks

7 Seat and large boot is usually a problem. The rearmost seats usually steal a large chunk of the boot space.
So which is more important 7 seats or a large boot? Or your looking at transit sized vehicles.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
If you want a 7 seater because that gives you a large boot, I'd point you toward the Ford S-Max and Ford Galaxy. plenty of examples for your budget.
However if you need 7 seats and a large boot, forgotmyname is spot on...0 -
I have a Mondeo estate and the floor area is WAY bigger than that of the S-Max. Also no spare wheel in the S-Max so if you want to carry one and i wouldnt have any car without a proper full sized spare. then your boots gone.
Been a while sinced i looked, but pretty sure the boots fairly small with all 7 seats in place.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
How many miles are you anticipating on doing a year? For your budget I would go for a Toyota Previa.0

I have an 07 plate grand scenic now on 80,000 miles. It needs a new steering rack, timing belt and clutch. That's about £2000 worth.Pants0

Yes, i want 7 seats so i can split up my children when they fight but a big boot as possible when the back seats arent being used. Ideally i would have both but i havent seen any cars in my budget which have boot with the 7 seats all in useIf you want a 7 seater because that gives you a large boot, I'd point you toward the Ford S-Max and Ford Galaxy. plenty of examples for your budget.

i looked at the partner tepee but cant find anything like that with 7 seats. They have all been converted for wheelchairs. I would like a small van but no idea where to look for one. or which make to go for.forgotmyname wrote: »7 Seat and large boot is usually a problem.
