I'm back again to try for January. Please can you put me down for £400

I'm going to start from eating from my pantry and freezer.
I have several tins of various beans and chickpeas. So looks like veggies burgers will be a regular addition to January's meal plan.

Thanks for running this thread, i find it helpful, even if i do fail each month :o

    Hi
Could you sign me up for £80 a week, so £320 a month , please? My week starts on a Friday, first one being this Friday (30th).

For those asking I find Morrisons excellent for home delivery, rarely ever any subs, great offers, great every day prices and fab service (drivers and customer services).

  • Hi all after much debate with myself, I'm going to start my budget on the 29th and run it for 4 weeks. I get weekly money coming in but bulk buy meat so it's easier to keep track of the budget monthly.I'm going for £300, slightly less than last Jan but we had a baby on formula milk then, he's now on cow's milk.

  • Hi everyone, I started in December and it really made me think about meal planning and what food I needed.
Have decided to budget £200 for 5 weeks starting on 2nd January.
Freezer and cupboards are full so I am going to do an inventory at the end of the month and plan accordingly.
  • iv been so excited to get started with this challenge! As much as I love Christmas I'm ready to save save save!

As well as securing a part time job I'll also be dieting and trying to cook most of our meals from scratch!
I have been lucky enough to be gifted a bread maker which I can not wait to get my hands onto :A

We have a cat that we adopted from a shelter so even though I was originally aiming for 300 per month I am going to start with £400 for the month of January 2017 :p

This will included 2 adults 2 children 1 cat and 1 takeaway per week.

Thank you to the admins and all other members for the work and advice :j

  • Sign me up Scotty!

Having stood in front of the freezer and realised that it's ridiculous having so much food with just a husband and child to feed, I think I need to make drastic changes!

£150 max for January as that allows a couple of takeaways and husbands not so money saving work lunches (I say lunch, he works nights). Husband won't eat healthy food at work as his break is very short so insists on nice sandwich meat etc. But I eat soup for lunch and I can't see any need to buy food in Jan other than bread, yoghurt, milk and f/v

I am including household things in this as well, but that's just bleach and toilet roll!
    Money money money.

Evening folks and a warm welcome to the new peoples, returners and lurkers :hello:

Thank you Zippy and Coxy for running the thread and taking us into 2017.

I will be aiming for my usual £200 for the month, hoping that my bulk buy fund will still be at £100 to start the year again ;) My month runs from first to last day of the calender month, so still posting in December.

My budget includes all food, household, cleaning and laundry supplies. Any monies left at the end of the month go into my bulk buy fund, which is used to buy butcher meat and any 'bargains' I see on things I use a lot of such as tuna and Hz baked beans.

I like to make all our meals from scratch, bulk cooking and freezing, and we don't have takeaways. We have separate budgets for wine and the odd meal eaten out for birthdays etc.

Good luck one and all. Please ask if you need any info or help and hope you all enjoy the challenge.
