DH is going through bread like nobodys business! Had to buy another loaf today and some rolls, he finished the rolls over the course of several meals today. Also had to buy bananas. Another £5 gone. Praying for an NSD tomorrow and, hopefully Thursday.Saving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

I'd say yes - but if you want to make 'more' sure then bung that small amount of mash in the freezer until you need it tomorrow

Well I have made a start. Wrote down everything in the freezer and main food cupboard and planned main meals for two weeks.
Breakfast is usually porridge and fruit/ eggy bread or omelette and lunch is soup in winter, salad in summer so not much planning needed.
Then I went shopping armed with my list and stuck to it! Mr M in town so went on my bike, Lidl and Mr S by car as they are 20 minute drive. I spent a total of £98.74 which included milk and bread for the freezer and two huge half price YS joints of pork which have been cut into four and frozen. Just need some leeks from our local market as I love leek and potato soup.
DH goes back to work on the 9th so might have to buy some sandwich fillings, perhaps he'd like cold pork(my YS bargain).0 -

Hi all,
Braved Aldi today, wasn't too busy at all and the shelves were all full.
I took £180.00 out of the cashpoint (I had £20 in my purse already) and this has been put into a separate purse, and my other purse has been taken out of my handbag and put in a drawer, so no instant access to debit card
£24.87 spent, loo roll, bin bags, cat food and lots of fresh vegA few bags of crisps etc for DH,s lunches and sweet potatoes for soup, will deduct £25 as I prefer to round up.
Off to update my Siggy.Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Down to the last few toilet rolls yesterday so, rather than waiting till Friday, we decided to pick up a few things in Lidl and Farmfoods.
I prefer the FF toilet rolls to Aldi (and they're cheaper) and Lidl is next to Aldi, and a bit further away so it made sense to combine the two. Got 2kg chicken, and lots of lovely fruit and veg (avocadofor 49p) amongst another few bits and pieces. The avocado will go with a tin of tuna made into tuna and sweetcorn mayo with salad, which DD and I will have later.
We have roughly £1.10 pp per meal - which sounds doable now than my appetite is back to normal!
We'll need to go to the shops on Friday as we're entertaining an extra four so making stuffed pork loin with potatoes dauphinoise and veggies. No idea what we're doing for pudding though; maybe a crumble and custard? But then again, that might be quite rich after the main course?0
