Hi everyone and hny! Hope 2017 is fun and frugal.
Can you put me down for £300 this month? Hoping it will be nearer £200 but need to do a big shop before going back to work after mat leave. Trying to stock up the freezer with useful quick meals before then.0 -
Happy New Year everyone. Meal planning etc. went a bit overboard in December and I stopped counting the mini topup shops, so trying to get back on track for £320 in January. This is up to 28th Jan, 2 adults and 2 teenagers, not including household stuff (cleaning, toiletries).
Latest bargain was our delayed Christmas dinner on 27th - half price turkey, sprouts £34p, potatoes 19p and parsnips for 9p!! (On holiday over Christmas itself so had first dinner on Christmas eve...)GC Feb 2019 (to 10th) £397.07/£3000 -
Count me in too please. £300 for a family of four (2 adults, 2 kids, 3 dogs, 4 chickens & a gecko). Gonna give it a good go.Grocery Challenge - Jan 0/300

Delighted to say no one penny spent since Christmas Eve and don't need to go shopping this weekend so a whole weeks budget of £20 transferred to bulk buy fund. Still have loads of leftovers to use up as due to an unexpected invite to Prague my DD gave me loads she wouldn't be using.Slimming World at target0

A few years ago some wonderful person made this above which was sooo useful. I may have corrupted the formulae a little so was hoping to re-download it, I am sure many other folk would like it too. So many spreadsheets online focus on a monthly groceries/toiletries/fuel figure but this one had a sheet for for each so you could list each spend each month which pushed through to the front page to give a running total.
This is part of the Instructions page so if it is you please let me know where I can d/l again. Thanks in anticipation :A
Instructions for use
Totals Page
This page keeps a tab on your 'year to date' figures, as well as being the place to set out your annual budget within categories
Notes :
Cell A1 This is for the month we are in, and should set itself automatically by use of a formula
1 denotes January, and the budget to date column (C) will be 1/12th of your annual budget.
6 denotes June, and column C will be 6/12ths (or half) of your annual budget
Before the start of the year this will always show as 1
After the end of the year this will always show as 12
Should you ever need to re-enter the formula, it's =IF(YEAR(TODAY())>2013,12,(IF(YEAR(TODAY())=2013,MONTH(TODAY()),1)))
If you keep a blank copy of this spreadsheet, the only thing you should need to do to use it in future years is change the year - in both places - in the formula in this cell
Categories in Column A
These can be changed to anything you want them to be - BUT the last 3 need leaving 'as is' to enable the entire spreadsheet to hang together
The categories in rows 2 thru 23 will carry their headings through to the monthly pages for Regular payments (so you only need to change them in one place)
Budget figures in Column B
These are for you to set to your personal levels.
NOTHING ELSE on this page should be touched or updated
Regular payments
These are recorded on the first page for each month eg. Jan Reg
All you need to add is the figure in column C, but I personally like to keep track of the date the payment was made
If I make several payments for the same category in one month (mainly to do with the dogs or presents),0 -

I would if it's food you would have bought anyway as otherwise your spending isn't realistic.
Small spend from me today - will add to sig - made mistake of letting OH go to shop for a cauliflower by himself - he came back with masses of YS pastries, doughnuts and cookies.....:eek:I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200
