My limit came with the card - 3 times higher than Egg!

I too found the call centre very efficient, though a little repetitive - I think he kept losing his place in the script!

Though no-one can go back and make a brand-new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand-new ending.

Received my card last week with a £6K limit. Not impressed.

Rang Customer Services today. I asked for an increase suggesting that no way could the card be the 'only one I would ever need' over the next 9 months, especially as I wanted to do a BT and put all my spending on it. I asked for min £15K.

He suggested I try again in 6 months after there was a spending pattern and also said £15K would be unlikely as THIS IS THE MAXIMUM THEY ALLOW IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCES

After trying to fob me off further he eventually transferred me to Chester but not before I had endured several minutes of the most awful 'elevator music'.

The lady who eventually came on asked a couple of questions (both of which were on the application!) and said without more ado that she couldn't offer me £15K but could go to £12K.

SOLD to the man with the beer in his hand! Cheers!!

£6K is all I need for my BT! I have a good credit history, but I know that a lot rests on how long you've been living in your current home. I've been there less than 3 years.

My current card, applied for about 9 months ago (funnily enough) has plenty of credit, so I'm not overly concerned that the new one will be any different. It would just be nice to know in time to apply elsewhere if my new limit is insufficient!

Guess I'll just have to wait and see!

Got my card yesterday with 6000 limit. The lowest limit I got so far, but it helps. When I did my BT request today, it surprise me that they allow to BT to the full limit. Other cards normally only allows to 90-95%.
Another point is when I did my transfer, the operator did repeat to say that I got 9 month 0% without asking (although as everybody know their form is 6 months).

I think M&S are trying it on with this six months thing. When I rang up to transfer my balance, the lady said: "Just to confirm that you get six months interest free."
"I thought it was nine months?"
"Is that what it said on your letter?"
I replied "yes" confidently (although checked later and it wasn't) and she said she would just check with her manager. She put me on hold for literally three seconds (there is no way she could have spoken to someone) and said her manager said it was ok to put it up to nine months.
Hope this tactic works for someone else!

Very poor 3k limit offered - my other £45k credit is obviously having an effect.
Phoned Indian call centre requesting increase to £15k to match Egg and was offered £5k. Asked to be transferred to Chester (thanks realaledrinker) who at first would only go to 5k. After a bit more gentle persuasion lady agreed to split the difference at 8k but wouldn't be pushed any further and said that sending details of existing savings etc. wouldn't help until 6 months transactions had been seen (though I might try anyway).
No questions were asked about other cards and the only things they seem concerned about are emplyment status, salary and Experian score.
T&Cs stated 6months interest free, but got Service Centre to confirm 9months (which was then repeated as they went through standard script).
Warning - although card only arrived yesterday (sent out Monday), I was told that my transfer offer ends in 4 days

Just noticed on husband's confirmation letter of being accepted for a card that 30 days for 0% BTs starts from the date of the letter. So hurry up with the card then!

Noticed that my initial application was scored on Experian only and that when I pushed for a credit limit they then scored on Equifax!!

Received my card - £5500 limit but for 6 months only. Customer services wouldn't budge despite my applying online for 9 months. Hmph
I emailed them with the same issue. They replied stating that it's a 9 month period with a 0% interest rate. If there are any issues I'll just copy them - and the financial ombudsman - the email they sent me!
