In which case.... can the OP afford to get a minicab to IKEA then buy bedding with the vouchers and still be better off?
I need to think of something new here...

The way I read it is, the op has been refunded their money AND given £70 in vouchers as a good will gesture.

That's how I read it too, but I can see how others might interpret it differently.

My best guess is ikea refund with voucher?

I think it is odd that IKEA give away £70 voucher for some inconvenience.

If it is £5 voucher, I would guess OP get the refund in Credit/ Debit card and IKEA give £5 for his inconvenience.

Yes we have two Ikea beds and use standard bedding.

    Very strange.
Depends which Ikea mattress size you've got. They do both standard (UK) sizes, and continental sizes which are larger the bigger you go.

Some of the beds are continental size. The sprog's ikea bed is 10cm longer than standard, as is my German Hulsta (and also wider than a UK Superking). Normal UK fitted sheets are far too tight in the length and squash the ends of the mattress and buckle them.

IKEA used to only sell continental size beds, its only in the last few years that they have now started selling UK size as well.
