Hi all, I upgraded to a HTC 530 last week and I'm still trying to sort out the personalising settings, but for some reason when I get a text or other notifications there's no sound, it vibrates but that's all, I've tried changing the ringtone but it's still the same, it was working fine when I got it but it's driving me crackers, I must have done something to it but I've no idea how to get the sound back on, any help you could give me I would really appreciate it, thanks in advance and have a merry Christmas to you all

Have you turned the volume down to "0" using the buttons on the side of the phone? I've done that myself by pressing the "down" button instead of the power button when switching my phone off. Zero volume (on mine, no a HTC) defaults to vibrate only.

Thanks for you're reply, I've tried all of that, it's ringing for phone calls and Facebook notifications but not for text or email notifications, I'm baffled,

Look in Settings > Sound & notification and have a search through all the different options. It appears you can change quite a few things in there and have various Do Not Disturb and Priority settings that only let certain contacts etc ring, so maybe there's a setting in there that's switched off for texts.

Ha ha, that's the problem with too many options, they get confusing!
