It's apparent that you know it's not your content to post - you didn't pay to produce the film, so have no right to choose to give away the work on youtube!

Why weren't you given other copyright violations? Got lucky, simply. There's absolutely no question that you'd get a strike immediately.

FWIW there is absolutely no 'Fair use' exemption for simply posting short clips of film or video. There may be some claim if it's used in the context of review or parody, but it'll be managed on a case by case basis. Making movies I'm acutely aware of having to clear every music cue, every clip, every image, every single time we use another's IP.

No I just deleted it. I did a bit of research online last night on how to obtain permission but it sounded very complicated and I formed the view it wasn't worth the effort in my case.

It sounds from AndyPix's comment that Sony might not be very receptive anyway.
