The BA strike is BA's, it's their very poorly paid Mixed Fleet staff, it's not an airline fuel tanker drivers strike which would be extraordinary circumstances.
BA passengers have an absolute right to re-routing as Article 8 of EU reg EC261:2004. The reg does not say 're-routing by the booked operating air carrier only.'
Airlines have a principal-agent relationship with Swissport.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
MSE:
"Don't want to travel? You can get a full refund. This excludes season ticket holders unfortunately, but everyone else can get a full refund if their train's cancelled and they decide not to travel."
Season ticket holders can get a refund (on a share of the ticket) if they cannot travel.Southern:
For Season ticket holders (including weekly tickets):
If you chose not to or are unable to travel you can apply for strike compensation and we will provide you with the equivalent of a day’s travel0 -
BA have advised this morning that all flights will operate as normal even if Mixed Fleet staff go on strike. It obviously helps that a lot of flights do not operate as normal on Christmas Day and they clearly seem to have enough staff on the old terms who are not in dispute to operate all the flights planned0

Time will tell.
If they manage to run a complete/near complete service, it's happy days for the customers.
Less happy times for the 'our member's' who decided to withdraw their labour in an attempt to cripple their employers business at Christmas.0 -
The Unite Bruvvers have suspended the Cabin Crew strike that was going to take place on Christmas Day & Boxing Day.
Very welcome news for travellers and hopefully its a case of "its good to talk" for the Cabin Crew.0
