  • Yes that true, all I can think of is that they were looking for a couple entering the hotel in the 30 minute time slot and they could not see a couple enter possibly.

Its all very frustrating but they cant keep getting away with it so i suppose I need to stick to my guns

well as you cannot be seen on the CCTV , you could not have been the driver , tell them to chace the driver !

or you will put in a formal request for ALL CCTV footage of the enterance/bar between the times shown on the ticket

Get back in touch with the hotel/pub and tell them that you expect them to cancel this charge. Tell them that they are liable for the actions of their agents and you do not appreciate having your time wasted as a result if their agents actions, and that you may have no other option than to charge the pub/hotel for your wasted time at up to £19 per hour or part thereof..

I parked in a Future Inn car-park while went in to take a look around the bar etc. (30mins) as this is a possible wedding venue.
Now you are aware of the parking scam they operate, I assume this place is firmly OFF your short list. Maybe you should tell them WHY you won't be considering spending large amounts of money at their hotel, and see if they change their mind (and even if they do, you won't be using them anyway :- ).

Don't forget to leave a review on Trip Adviser describing the way the hotel treats potential customers. You wouldn't want your wedding guests 'fined' because they weren't identified on the CCTV.

and a complaint to the local police/licencing authority that that the CCTV (which they are obliged to have) is faulty

fight back , give them more grief than they are giving you , one days takings (whist CCTV being repaired to standards) will cost them a lot more than the cancellation fee of your ticket

I e-mailed future inns as this was the advice on some of the threads on here and shortly after I received an e-mailed back apologizing and I was told they would get it cancelled.

Did they actually say that the charge was cancelled, or 'they would get it cancelled' ? Sounds as though someone may have been overruled for suggesting it.
If its not too far a distance to travel to, then suggest that you will call back and point yourself out on their cctv system.

How not to sell a wedding venue, Future Inns.

To the OP, perhaps you would like to tell is the venue's name/location?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
