Passwords! GRRR

I've just been barred from the MSE credit club for 24 hours for forgetting my password, having received an email overnight that the site had updated my details. No big deal and by tomorrow I will have forgotten about it so won't bother anyway. However in my strop I thought if they don't want me why should I want to be in their precious club and how dare they when it's my details anyway, not theirs!

2 yr old temper tantrum now over, I need to find a good way of storing passwords and wonder what others do? Chrome remembers some username/password combinations which is good but others, including the MSE club, don't get saved. I really only use slight variations of one of two passwords anyway. Thinking of getting a little notebook to keep by the laptop, but failing that, what do others do? I live on my own, nobody else uses laptop, virtually no money in any account.

I just wish there was some way of signing a document to say I take all responsibility for what happens but please websites, will you just remember my logins for me!

Firefox always offers to remember passwords. You can also see a list of all passwords. I use it for everything not involving money.

I've got a dog eared collection of paper clipped pieces of paper covered in old and updated passwords. Hardly hi tech but it works.

I use Keepass. It's flexible, and you can get versions that run on all the main OS's. You can choose to set it to look for a key file (for example on a USB drive) as well as a password, for extra security, or you can just rely on one strong password if you don't need it that secure.

I have one very strong password that I use for everything. Unfortunately it has been known to criminals for the last three years or so thanks to Yahoo, but I have not had any problems.

Roboform. It costs but works everywhere, except Android where it is a bit rough.

I use lastpass. One strong password then let it store the others. Not had any problems thus far, but you do have to remember your strong password.

I use the free Steganos Locknote, which is basically an encrypted executable file with a Notebook-like interface.

As I carry my phone with me everywhere I use an android app called aWallet. It works offline if there is no signal. The paid version (cheap) automatically synchronises the encrypted data file to your Google account for use on multiple devices.

I'm happy with the design, ease of use, features and security model.
