New neighbour turned off hot water supply

Options
So for some bizzare reason my new neighbour thought he would be smart and delibrately turn off my hot water supply.
He has a stop !!!! in his property which affects the flow to mine.

I know this because when they where refitting his place for a new tenant i had to knock on the door and and get the builders at the time to switch it back on.

also as there is a landlord/tenant dispute at the moment i am 99.9% sure that the landlord / and or son has got him to turn off my supply.

Lanlord evicting me but have filed a claim for disrepair etc

this new neighbout he is in but wont answer the door -

But i had a conversation with another neighbour and they have hot water.

just needed to vent :mad::mad:

  • You need to start making friends rather than enemies, especially with the new neighbour.

    * Is the " landlord/tenant dispute" between you and your landlord?
    * what is the neighbour's status? Friend of LL? Also a tenant of the same LL?......?
    * Is this a block of flats? Semi-detached houses? What is the plumbing arrangement?
    * What is the eviction status? LL has served a S21 Notice? Is it valid? Are you in a fixed term tenancy?
    * Or LL served a S8 Notice? What grounds?
    * what is the 'disrepair' issue? History? What is your claim?
    * have you proof the LL is involved in the stopcock problem? Has the LL done other actions that could contribute to a 'harassment' claim contrary to the Protection from Eviction Act 1977 ?

thing is i haven't done anything towards him with the new neighbour - as i mentioned in my original post - and if he felt their was an issue with something then to turn off a water supply rather than approaching someone to talkabout anything is the way to go about it ?

How is the payment for hot water arranged? If your neighbour has hot water and you now don't, does that mean that previously he was paying for the hot water you used?

Sorry to hear about the hassle.

But you also seem to be suggesting that it has been done at the request of your LL, so you really need to sort out that relationship as well as make sure you don't do anything that will annoy your neighbour.

    You are being paranoid.

Any new neighbour would certainly not expect a stop*ck in their own property to affect someone in another property. (What a ridiculous plumbing setup!) It was probably turned off for some innocent reason thinking it would only affect their own property.

either the LL or the Ll son who does the maintencce of the property, due to eviction ongoing proceedings

the previous tenant who left about 3 weeks ago next door had no problems with her at all before the new guy moved in and i overheard conversations between the neighbour and the llson friend who came round
