Don't want to detract from your post but it is KB3205386 which is causing me problems - and I am on a monthly data contract with EE thanks to BT's refusal to provide any b/band where I live. It has now downloaded itself 7 times in the last 3/4 days at about 0.3gb a pop, installs to 100% and then a message pops up to say the installation couldn't be completed and therefore it is being uninstalled. This seems to be a problem for some but not everyone.
My Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems is. as I understand it, not the most recent version but can I persuade the downloader to update to the latest version? No!
Any thoughts, ideas and preferably solutions will be very welcome before I either move to Apple or begin a learning process for some Linux system or other0 -
Check advanced update settings. Do you have defer feature updates checked? If so that's why you are still on 1511.Some Windows 10 editions let you defer upgrades to your PC. When you defer upgrades, new Windows features won’t be downloaded or installed for several months. Deferring upgrades doesn’t affect security updates. Note that deferring upgrades will prevent you from getting the latest Windows features as soon as they’re available.0

Hi, nope, just looked the defer box isn't checked. The update has just finished downloading and again failed to install this time at 96% complete. Mad 'tis driving me!0

That'll ruin a few Christmas Days when the kiddies switch on their laptops to find there's a two hour 'anniversary?' update when they go to switch off /restart. And of course it'll fail because the thing isn't charged.
The 'wonderful' Windows 10 is tolerable, nothing more.0 -
Another one on the way.
Windows 10 Cumulative Update KB3206309 before year end probably.0 -
I have uninstalled this 5 times, ticked defer yet it still keeps re downloading and installing.
It causes a problem when connecting to our sever, in particular mail server which crashes as soon as you try and check mail.
Uninstalling the update and the issue goes away - only it won't because it keeps re-installing.

Are you sure? I presume you have found the new games and apps installed without your knowledge which was bundled with your new security updates amd not just useless bloatware?
And when you uninstall said bloatware and useless apps and it reinstalls them for you?
Yes it has some good points, but they really are taking the "P" with some things.
Good news is im getting more calls to help people with windows 10 issues than ive have with any OS for a while.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
