  • We are all here to listen if you need to unload LW, take care of yourself.
    Chin up, Titus out.
  • Hello, a quick post, mostly to send comforting thoughts to the poorly and sad.

JackieO, my two little dogs will be waiting with the other dogs for Bowie. And their two labrador friends will be with them.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

LameWolf - unload all you want and need. Sorry you're so low, perhaps it's worse in the darkness of long winter nights? The light will be returning soon, keep heart.

My barn work is done. The two big bits of kit are now in the big barn and the floor has been swept. SO much wood rubbish and bird seed stuff there, and I found out where the mice took the blue poison packets to eat. There's only the unwanted door left to move out, it's not that heavy, just unwieldy so I'll ask the farmer to shift it. The floor is not at all level but there's loads of bits of wood around the big barn which can go under low parts of the floor.

Toasted cheese was scrumptious. One piece with ketchup and one with black pepper (just like my Dad used to have it) and both with almost burnt cheese.

Now I'll whizz through SCD again before getting changed for the service. I do wish they'd sing proper traditional carols and hymns, it's Episcopalian and miserable!

    Hi everyone,

DGC have just gone home so peace reigns until tomorrow.DS and I took them to a country park not too far away,we went on the Santa Express and saw reindeers so they were happy. They are both full of colds though so sleep was a bit disturbed. They painted snowmen when we got home-I was hoping white paint wouldnt make as much mess :D.While we were out DH pressure washed the front path and flags at the back as they were getting a bit slippy, looks a lot better now.

While I was talking to our next door neighbour DH put the quiche in for lunch. The only problem was I had planned it for tea ;).All my meat is frozen solid so need to pick something up when we pop out later.

JackieO- Im really sorry to hear about poor Bowie x

Better go DH is waiting, hugs to anyoe who wants one xx

Hey. We're not miserable! Depends a lot on the vicar and the music director. We go all out with the carols. I actually find the local Kirk much more esoteric with the carols:p

LW Feel free to off load. I have just done so on the Flylady thread so head over there if you want a giggle. I hope you can fight off the BD. When is the Solstice? That should put things in a more positive light I would think

Jackie So sorry to hear about Bowie. It sounds like he's going to be mobbed on the other side though. It must be particularly hard at this time of year, particularly for the boys. I will add you all to my prayers tonight.

    .

For the first time in years and years there were at least three 'proper' Christmas hymns which cheered everyone up. The the local choir was a great enhancement to the usual dirge...mind you the vicar was just dreadful. Anyway, we all survived and it's only once a year so I get on with it.

I don't like mulled wine or mince pies so am now sitting by my fire with a glass of well deserved wine on the table. The work in the small barn is done and I'm relaxed about it now.

    Evening everyone

A rather late check in from me today. DH and myself were up reasonably early and headed off to visit DH's grandad, as we didn't get yesterday, he was getting ready to go out for the day, so we only stopped a few minutes and left him his xmas prezzie, we were really pleased that he was going out and he did say when we arrived that as we were there he wouldn't bother going ................ we persuaded him to still go as we couldn't stop long anyway.

Dinner last night was bbq spare ribs, pulled pork, mushroom chow mein and tempura prawns etc - was lovely and enjoyed by us all. Today I had intended doing a roast chicken dinner, but DH asked when we returned from his grandad's could we just have the roast chicken with some rice and pasta - easy done and not such a heavy meal, all eaten and enjoyed and I managed to use up some LO veg from the fridge in the HM veg rice. I remembered to get the pork out of the freezer - that will be tomorrow night's dinner with mash and veg.

Once we had got back from DH's grandad's the menfolk all went outside and emptied the outside freezer - we'd left our 2 electric coolboxes running all night so they were nice and cold, so they were filled with the contents, they then de-iced the freezer, gave the freezer a good clean and got everything back in, it really didn't take them very long at all, I now have a very clean and half empty freezer - at least now I can see what's in it! I'm ashamed to say we did throw a few bits away - they just didn't look good and had obviously been in there way too long!

Back to work tomorrow - hoping it will be reasonably busy - but it's possibly not going to be, as most people are too busy with last minute xmas prep than coming in to see us, we'll get a hit straight after New Year - if previous years are anything to go by!

    Keep safe and well x

Lol I just saw your post on Flylady; I did have to smile at "small screaming things". I'm afraid, selfish as it may seem, I'd refuse point blank. But then, I only have canine guests staying over under any circumstances.;) The whole "put a dressing gown on before wandering through to the kitchen for your first cup of coffee" is too much to ask - I can't even get my dressing gown the right way up til I've had at least two cups of coffee! :D Dogs at least don't mind their hosts wandering about starkers! :rotfl:
Solstice, thankfully, is Wednesday; at least then the light will start to return.
Unfortunately I've battled with severe depression for many, many years; been through just about every anti-d that Nasty - oh excuse me, NICE - will let the GP prescribe; I just have to battle on as best I can.
Roll on 28th December, when Sasha comes to stay for a few days. :o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • LW I so agree with the dressing gown thing. But I'll just have to grin and bear it. Latest instalment is that NONE of them are coming now. I've given up. I'd love a canine guest though.

Great that the solstice is so soon. That daylight makes all the difference.

I spent 25yrs on various antidepressants. I finally got free last October. I hope you can battle out soon.
