If it's a con, why not report it to Action Fraud?

It's a con that's been around for years.

That makes sad and grim reading.
But how come seemingly intelligent people fall for such scams.

Its one thing buying a new car via a known high profile broker online, with due dilligence obviously, its quite different sending £xxxx to a holding service recommended and linked to by no one other than the seller of said bargain.

Bargain is the key to all of these scams, its usually a image badged or fashionable item (hence Audis, BMW's or VW campers which people must have) advertised at a price too good to be true, usually with a cover story that would stand about 10 seconds of logical thought to see straight through.

People are incredibly silly these days, maybe their innocence and blind trust is how the same dishonourable politicians keep getting re-elected, because these people really will believe any old tosh they see in print in the ''right on'' source, tell them its not true and they wouldn't be able to cope.

Our own banking and law enforcement systems are typically modern British, completely unfit for purpose and staffed by the most incompetent fools as can be found anywhere.

I'm afraid one has to be cynical and not trust anyone at face value which is a great shame. I like to think the best of people unless I have a reason not to but experience teaches one that you have to do the opposite a lot of the time. I don't think I am likely to fall for scams but it has made me a somewhat distrustfall and withdrawn person. I don't like answering the phone or the door as it is someone after money 50% of the time plus I get as many junk/scam emails as genuine ones. That's progress?!

    Hi.
    Bit of advice needed please.
My friend is after purchasing a vehicle that looks good , sounds good , the price is good .The seller as said the cars not available for viewing , but can be purchased through pay pal useing this method below.

    QUOTE.

Due to my location and since view or pick up is not an option I will agree for a 5-7 days of full inspection period ( after the date you receive the vehicle). This means that you have 7 days to inspect the vehicle for any damages and decide if you want to keep it or not!
Because I will sign eBay's return policy, your money will be insured by them and you will have the option to reject the deal. In this case, you will receive a full refund from eBay and I will have to take the van back on my cost! .

Call me old fashioned :) but it does not seem right to me to buy the car and part with big bucks before i have seen or tested the vehicle, as anyone got experience of this set up ?, as my friend is really keen on to buy, and wants my advice.
    Thankyou in advance.

Thankyou for all the replies, i have forwarded the replies to my friend & he wont be going near it, i thought as much myself , but the guy needed more info to prove my point to him.
    Lesson learnt i hope.
    thankyou
