buying car ebay

Hi.
Bit of advice needed please.
My friend is after purchasing a vehicle that looks good , sounds good , the price is good .The seller as said the cars not available for viewing , but can be purchased through pay pal useing this method below.

QUOTE.

Due to my location and since view or pick up is not an option I will agree for a 5-7 days of full inspection period ( after the date you receive the vehicle). This means that you have 7 days to inspect the vehicle for any damages and decide if you want to keep it or not!
Because I will sign eBay's return policy, your money will be insured by them and you will have the option to reject the deal. In this case, you will receive a full refund from eBay and I will have to take the van back on my cost! .

Call me old fashioned :) but it does not seem right to me to buy the car and part with big bucks before i have seen or tested the vehicle, as anyone got experience of this set up ?, as my friend is really keen on to buy, and wants my advice.
Thankyou in advance.

  • Beaten to it ..... My advice would be to seriously run away as fast as you can and before any money has changed hands.

As above - its a con. Run away.

If you win an ebay car auction, dont part any money until you have inspected the car and its as described.

    If it isnt. Walk.

Nothing wrong with buying a car from Ebay.

Everything wrong with buying from sellers like this.
  • Not a bloody chance it's a massive con do not touch it with a barge pole unless you want a piece of crap and be out of pocket. You would not buy a house without viewing it would you.
  • Hundreds and hundreds of good vehicles get sold every day on the bay by decent sellers to decent buyers, the vehicles are as described and there in the flesh, buyer turns up puts wads of cash into sellers hand, they shake hands do the paperwork and everyone lives happily everafter.

There is no need ever to consider for one second getting involved with shady low lifes, whether sellers or buyers.

Go and find another vehicle, one that exists with a real person selling it.

And the idea that Paypal will refund your money if anything goes wrong is mistaken, vehicles are excluded from the buyer protection.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))
  • its a con, there is no vehicle.

Run and do not pay anything, or click on any links in emails provided as they may well link to fake paypal phishing sites.
