Can I get a DD to go out this month (apart from Paypal)

I've already had a Paypal direct debit go out from a BoS Vantgage this month and was trying to set one up to Tesco yesterday, but Tesco reverted the date to 3rd Jan (as it is doing today). So, am I stuffed for this month's interest?

No it'll be fine. Set it up for 3rd Jan.

3rd Jan will be classed as the first working day of the month. Providing the Tesco DD is taken on 3rd Jan and you've met the other requirements, then you'll get December's interest.

Pretty sure we've discussed about this before when you had a similar dilemma a few months ago. ;)

I've waited a day for this to be challenged, i.e it's a bank holiday in Falkirk and the Shetlands, where my accounts are held! I suppose it's because it makes no difference to what you state, although I thought that the overlap into the following month was only for the pay-in requirement.

I'm impressed! Although it was only 4 months ago and we all remember much older threads , recalling who actually started one is a different matter. It concerned the rationing of DDs by Paypal, and you may recall contributing this

Could it be that you can only request one DD payment everyday/every few days?

This may be a bit skewed due to the time of the year, but Tesco normally take three to five day's to get the DD setup. Then another three to five before the automated system will pull it.
To shorten this wait until the mandate appears on your BOS account, then log in to Tesco and click on "move money in". The system will also let you move the date back 24/48 hours once the mandate is in place

I used to be able to do this (about a year ago), but I can't get this 'trick' to work anymore - last time I tried was about 2 months ago.

When did this last work for you?

Should I risk doing this on the mandate I have in place for 3rd Jan or is everyone in agreement with Karlie that it will qualify for December?

I noticed I also had the Club Lloyds DD going out on the 3rd, so experimented with that - and it worked! A second Tesco DD is now due to go out on 30 December for Lloyds, but when I tried it for the BoS one, it just reverted it to the first available date i.e. it kept it at 3rd Jan. It wouldn't work for 31st Dec either. This was done a few minutes ago, not either side of midnight so I can see no reason why it wouldn't perform for the BoS one.
