Egg Money Manager

Every time I log in internet explorer hits a problem and has to shut down.

Anybody else come across this or know how I can fix it?

Thanks

  • It could be because you don't have the latest "applets" installed, i.e. java etc.

Make sure you have a newish internet explorer version (I am using ver. 6 as I dont like ie7). It has worked fine for me recently.

Though try cleaning out the cookies and cache and temporary files in internet explorer. Tools > Internet Options > General Tab (Temporary Internet Files). Doing this will mean you will need to renenter all your login details.

    See if that helps.

I haven't had any problems like you are describing however.

  • I've had the same problem, though not everytime. I try to use Egg Money without anyother IE windows open and most of the time it then works ok.

IE can be flakey with Java applets. If you use Firefox you'll get far fewer problems of this nature http://www.mozilla.com

While generally Firefox is the better browser, unfortunately Egg Money Manger only works with IE.

Works in the IE Tab extension once installed in Firefox

Still having problems. I'm getting the following error message:

Internet Explorer has encountered a problem with an add-on and needs to close.

    Add-on name: accounttracking.dll
Company name: (not verified) ewise systems pty ltd
    Description: accounttracking module
  • Yes, I cannot access the add-ons either.

My stored details for HSBC were 'lost' for some reason - but none of the other other accounts. I think you may have to use 'Edit an account' select HSBC and reinput the login details etc. This has happened on a few occasions and may occur when the institution is amending its own login procedures - which then means EMM may have to hold a new 'template' for this info and the old info gets discarded
