  • Hopefully posters can, by now, accept that some people do have very strong valid reasons why they must not be identified publicly in any way.

I can understand - because I've once been asked by a battered wife that escaped from her husband to hide her from "public view" when cameras were around. It was not my place to do anything other than respect her privacy and I duly helped her with her request and made sure she was hidden from view.

People have that absolute right if they choose.

Contact the HA and explain why you would prefer not to be involved in their film and complain about them entering your garden and moving things. It sounds like the people filming were ignorant of the tenants rights. Let the HA explain.

Lovely turn of phrase there referring to a victim of DV.

Hiding your face in a public location so that people don't associate you with a particular place is a lot different to hiding your house. In exactly the same way, the OP didn't stand in the window or in the garden being filmed to create an association. But the house is constantly visible every day to anyone.

I completely appreciate people's desire not to be seen for wny reason, but that appreciation doesn't extend to a house.

Ultimately, if it were that important, I'd have asked them to move a couple of doors down, not asked what to do about it after the event. It's completely irrelevant now.

Surely there must be some compensation for OP? I assume that's where OP wishes this to go.

I assume this is tongue in cheek.

As the OP was not in the film, they have nothing to worry about. Anyone that they don't want to contact them will not benefit from footage of a house, showing no occupant identification and probably one of dozens all looking alike.

They went as far as to come onto the property without permission and remove items from my front garden.

    That's trespass.

No need to assume. The op said what they want.

What I want to do is ensure that this footage doesn't become publicly available and to ensure this doesn't happen in future.

does that mean she has to wear some sort of mask or veil when in public?
