Why is it that??????

No matter how little some folk pay for a holiday they always complain???

Currently on holiday in Bulgaria and thought I would check in with you all. We are staying at the Hotel Ralitsa in Albena and today I have heard the worst attitudes ever towards the hotel and staff. Bearing in mind it is a 3* (Bulgarian) rated hotel and at All inclusive we spent about 250 each, all in.

We have been here since Monday night and so far have not had a problem. Every person who we have spoken to whether they have been hotel staff, outside restaurant staff, taxi drivers, etcetc, they have all spoken reasonable English, certainly enough for us to get by as we do not speak a word of Bulgarian.

Today some of the comments:
It is raining so I can't even get up the stairs to get to the restaurant, I am going to end up in hospital if I can't eat. (this woman was hardly gonna die or starvation if you know nwhat I mean!)
There's nothing to do - granted it is raining but use your bloomin imagination!
Not one person speaks English, if they want people English people to come here then employ people who speak English. See my comment above
The food is s**t. The food is not 5* food and if theres not something to your liking today then there will be tomorrow.
I didn't pay peanuts to come here so I expect it to be 5*. If you want 5* then book bloomin 5* and go elsewhere!
There was a drunk gut sleeping behind the door and that scared us. I'm sorry but the folk making these comments scared me (maybe it was a good thing they couldn't get to the restaurants if you get my drift).

Some people just go on holiday to complain, and while I had read all the reviews, the good and the bad, and was cautious about coming here, I certainly wouldn't be complaining about any of the above, I was wondering if they were actually in the same hotel as me!!!

Perhaps next year they should go to Blackpool instead??? :rotfl:

  • Like with everything else in the world....You won't be able to please everyone..There will always be people who will complain but they again...you put money out for a flight, holiday, hotel, new kitchen, car etc. it has to be able to please whoever the customer is and like alot of people on here...we complain when we aren't happy. It's a part of life ;)

 some people live to complain i think !

    Enjoy your holiday :D
  • Yep some people love nothing better than complaining, most of the time about nothing significant.
What gets me is Brits abroad complaining about foreign food or about staff in hotels etc having limited English vocabulary. Why the hell do some people actually go abroad when all they want is the likes of McDonalds, fish and chips and 24hour booze on tap and have no interest in the country and culture they are visiting.
That why we have started to go away to places that are not full of beer guzzling,McDonald eating Brits and not have to listen to there endless whinging.

Completely agree with all above, Had four brits in Corfu moaning all the time about the stray cats, the food, the local transport, the HEAT!! this year. they really wound me up! If all your are gonna do is moan when abroad then please stay at home and leave Foreign Travel to people who appreciate it!

There is an amusing article here about some of the more bizarre holiday complaints from some Brits. :-

    http://www.travelmail.co.uk/travel/The-sea-s-full-of-fish-.html?article_id=22385

And here are some more :-

According to Thomas Cook in the UK, some holidaymakers are just never satisfied. Here are the top ten most bizarre and genuine customer complaints received by the firm in recent years:

1 On my holiday to Goa in India, I was disgusted to find that almost every restaurant served curry. I don't like spicy food at all.

2 The beach was too sandy.

3 I bought a snorkel and swimming mask for my six-year-old son, but he was too upset to use them as the fish frightened him.

4 It rained on my birthday.

5 Topless sunbathing on the beach should be banned. The holiday was ruined as my husband spent all day looking at other women.

6 I think it should be explained in the brochure that the local store does not sell proper biscuits like custard creams or ginger nuts.

7 It's lazy of the local shopkeepers to close in the afternoons. I often needed to buy things during 'siesta' time - this should be banned.

8 We bought 'Ray-Ban' sunglasses for five euros (£3.50) from a street trader, only to find out they were fake.

9 None of the hotel staff was English, and the tea didn't taste the same as at home.

10 I would like to complain about the price of alcohol in the resort. It was too cheap and I woke with a hangover every day.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Back in 97 I went on a coach trip to rural Poland - It was very cheap, and the hotel was pretty basic even by Polish standards. The moaners were mostly older and clearly wealthy, it was not luxurious, the food was poor (Duh, you are in Poland!), last day they filled their bags with food from breakfast so the late risers had nothing left, and leaving a tip for the hard-working staff, most could barely stretch to 1Zl. One trip was advertised as 'some difficult walking'. so they complained and the tour guide agreed to remove that bit. A few of us raised hell and got that bit put back in - The moaners sat in the coach...moaning!
Some Brits seem unable to grasp the concept of 'Budget' - It's cheap, because it is basic! Still, it was a great holiday!

  • Well, today we have woken to find that the sun has decided to make an appearance and I found a spot by the pool away from those who do all the complaining! On your visit you get to eat only one nite at the ala carte restaurant and we went last night. I had heard some folk say that it wasn't nice in there either but we had a really nice meal! If these folk want double egg and chips then why don't they go a nice weekend in Blackpool or something and leve the better hols to us that appreciate them???

Only complaint I have is that OH has come down with a man cold  and has spent the day in bed shivering causing me to go to the chemist at 9am and buy lots of stuff for a fraction of the price we would get it at home (in true MSE style of course!!).....but I'm not going to complain that he is ill am I????

Oh....and our room is in the first corrider after reception and EVERYONE has to walk past it and the doors are quite thin, but you soon get used to it and I don't even hear it now!

Looking forward to the Bulgarian Night tonight, I bet some folk would be saying "I hope they don't serve any of that Bulgarian muck there" :rotfl:

Hey, am enjoying myself, and I certainly would be back here, it comes recommended by me!
