Really need advice now, faulty car with warranty? [Merged]

The car itself was running absolutely lovely today, I'm wondering if the cause of the dashboard rattle was somehow causing a blockage. They mentioned originally that the rattle was something to do with the heating pipes to the dashboard. Which I can't imagine would effect power but I was driving today and took it down the motorway, once off the motorway the car just went like a bat out of hell.
But it happens most times when it goes into them to look at, then I get it back with a lot of power in it for a few days and then it goes off it again. To me, it's like there's a computer fault or something and whenever they plug it in, it does something. I did ask them last week if it was possible to reset the ECU to factory settings or update the software, but their response to that was that it was at factory settings0 -

I'd expect the code to be readable, though.0 -
It's not impossible that there's a fault code being stored which is putting into a limp-home mode, reducing power. It's then being cleared, and the car's running normally until the fault next pops up.
I'd expect the code to be readable, though.
That's the issues they're facing, there's no fault codes actually visible to them..they think it's the way I drive the car but I drove it no differently today when it ran nicely, to the times I don't.
Say they investigated a wheel to rebalance it, is there a chance they'd have plugged anything into the computer then? This was the first time I noticed the car run nicely after visiting the garage, when they fixed my wheel back in September?0 -

Taking the engine block out to have a good look at it was never going to happen."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

Is it really that difficult to remove the bit of plastic from the top and just inspect what's underneath it? They argued with me that the local mechanic had never removed it to check the timing chain to come up with his verdict, so they told me they'd do that and have a look. An they didn't..0 -
