I joined
https://hdd.creditmatcher.co.uk/
it says it give free credit score from Experian
On the site it shows my Experian credit score as "Excellent"
It then shows me a list of balance transfer credit cards I can apply for with 90% chance of being successfull.
I applied for one with sainsbury's and it was not accepted.
Why is this?
Prior to this I applied for one with Bank of Scotland and they also denied application. When I rang them they said it was because of my credit score and they used Experian.
However my Experian Score is ok.

Experian don't issue credit cards, hence their credit scores mean b*gger all and can be safely ignored
Only the data on your file matters. Likelihood your income is too low, your existing debts and balances are too high or your credit history is patchy.0 -
Try registering with https://www.clearscore.com https://www.noddle.co.uk and http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/creditclub
They are all free to register and they obtain data from the three different credit reference agencies. Whilst only a guide they do give info on what they regard as negatives on your credit file, so it may help?
As you have just had two rejected credit applications, I wouldn't make any more applications for credit for at least a month. Too many applications makes you look desperate for credit and is a red flag to lenders.0 -
Clearscore shows no negative results on accountSuperscrooge wrote: »Try registering with www.clearscore.com www.noddle.co.uk and http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/creditclub

What's your income, balances and limits?
What do you other two files say?0 -
90% chance means 1 in 10 won't be approved...
Someone has to be that 1.
Seriously though - make sure your information on your applications are exactly as your files, that your files are all up to date with address etc etc - wait a few months and then try again.DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
