UBER Drivers,no respect...

Can anyone advise me who to contact about Uber drivers who have no respect for private property and continue to block the end of my driveway?
Three times this week I've had to ask different drivers waiting to pick up not to park across the end of my drive, not only that, they park on the pavement and restrict access to a busy residential junction.
The driver today was most confrontational and unpleasant and I've had enough.
The ridiculousness of the situation was the the pick up was from an apartment block opposite which has it's own parking area, so why wait in a residential street?
I rang my local council but they were very wishy washy and said they would call back ... not holding my breath.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

So were they causing an actual obstruction or do you think you own the road?

If it's his driveway, he has the right of access and egress.
If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.

First of all why should I have to ask, it's a private residential road and the third driver today, was rude and confrontational and ... if you bother to read my OP I say that there is adequate parking in front of the building where the rider lives ... why is it so difficult to respect other peoples boundaries?

Parking over your drive for a minute or 2? Where is the harm in that?

As long as they move if you wish to enter/exit the driveway where is the harm?

Neighbour over the road has a handicapped son, the minibus picks him up daily and blocks me from reversing out. It takes him 4 - 6 minutes so i dont see a problem. I know he will be there between 2:30 and 3pm. If i need to go out i move the car before that time. Or i would pop out and ask him to move up a little bit because i need to get out.

Unless he's actually blocking you from getting in for the whole couple of minutes he's there then wind your neck in and leave it rather than creating a drama out of nothing.
Incidentally it's only an offence to block access to a public highway not to a driveway

Parking on the opposite side of the road to the flats they're collecting from is actually deliberate, and for a very good reason - it allows a better view of the car (branded, presumably) for the occupants of the flats, so that the dwell time between arriving and loading is minimised.

And if the OP has a genuine complaint about the driving and general behaviour of the driver(s) then as they are all operate on the authority of local councils as Private Hire vehicles and drivers, make a note of the licence and registration number and make a complaint.

To be fair, if you're trying to get out your drive and some uber is parked there, you have the right for them to gtfo.

That said, if they're there for 30 seconds, come on man?
  • Let me be clear, I was asking for advice on who to contact and how to stop this REGULAR blocking of my driveway, not for patronising comments on how I should behave.
1.The drivers use my drive access on a DAILY BASIS, most days they stop for anything up to 30 minutes at a time this is day and night.
2.My drive is on the corner of a busy junction, so any car exiting the junction has to swing out into the oncoming traffic to exit.
    3. As well as blocking my drive they also take up most of the pavement so any baby buggy or disabled scooter cannot pass, I have seen this happen.
    4. The apartments where the pick ups come from has it's own road entrance and a huge visitors parking area immediately in front so the theory of being more visible from my driveway doesn't work.
