It would take me twelve and a half years to make the "loss" that woman has experienced in a short time, and she has more to go.... :rotfl: You need to figure out the difference between a "loss" and a "cost".

£400/ month rent for your place and you'll be paying that forever [shudders].

You've paid such a high cost and lost so much.

Keep dreaming, you absolute spanner. If I paid 200 p.m you would still be trotting out all the same B.S...:rotfl:I would rather rent forever than experience the horror of being in negative equity, unable to move, and with other debts on top. That is what a reasonable chunk of the population are looking at. Of course we have special people on here who made BTL pay and won`t see any grief, best of luck to them, well done. Of course if we get a proper crash I will just buy for cash.....;)...:rotfl:

if say for arguments sake you want to buy, how much would you (can you afford to) put down as a deposit on a property in % terms?

Don`t share financial details on the internet, you could be a kidnapper.

In other words, he's got 7 stale raisins and not much else.

Either way, he's got no equity and absolutely no chance of buying back in without losing huge sums. £££££ eek :o

When a gambler takes £100 into a casino and reaches £1000 at some point but leaves the casino with £200 they don't walk away content, they feel slightly mugged.

They then feel a need to come back to 'find' the money they 'lost'.

Same thing happens with property. Hence why crashy is haunting this forum.

One of the worst losses for the gambler is their time. The thoughts preoccupy their mind and they get endlessly pulled back to the scene of the crime in hope of finding 'their' money they lost.

The weird thing is it can happen even if they won, as long as they feel they didn't stop at the best point.

It's why all casino's offer free bonus money to start you off. As long as you can feel a loss, real of perceived, the chances are you'll be back to the casino or bookies (or house price forum).

The big question is, how many coins is crashy holding and how much of a crash will he 'let spin' before he makes his move.

If he would share that part of his plan, we might just be able to help him a little with tips and/or therapy.
Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.

If there's a proper crash (I wish) you'd still be out of pocket. Plus the crash won't be big enough for you, you'll still be rehashing old reasons not to buy and dreaming up new ones - you and I both know your cash savings aren't destined for a house purchase.

Renting forever is fine if you like renting but why try and justify it by saying a 'big chunk of people' are facing negative equity and burdensome debts? Why would your renting forever decision have anything to do with people you don't know and whose lifestyles you choose not to emulate?

By the way I spent a few years of the early nineties in negative equity. I didn't even realise until the late nineties - the horror simply passed me by.

Negative equity is not a problem if you don't need to move because of divorce, job or family growth. That would actually be the majority.
I did know a guy who had 4 kids in a 1 bed flat. I didn't think much of his family planning but I think they survived it.

Pardon? I don`t disclose my financial details online and in your mind that means I am "scared of everything" :rotfl::rotfl:Keep posting, you have found the perfect online home for yourself in this little sub-sub-troll community......;)
