Hi StuK,
Yes your situation sounds to be exactly like mine. It was over 2 years later that Excel Parking filed for court proceedings.
I didn!!!8217;t pay the missing 10p ever though I did respond to most of the first year of letters they sent me. I ignored the second year until the court papers because I got bored of them ignoring me. I!!!8217;m tempted to believe though that if you ignored everything it would be the same as if you did reply because they just ignore everything you say and common sense most certainly does not prevail ever. The chance at a quick £100 from scared motorists however is high on their list of priorities.
I do not pretend to be an expert, I got all my advice from the lovely people on here who were invaluable to me!
My advice, ignore, don!!!8217;t pay, wait it out. If court letters come through you have to respond to those but these guys can assist and I will dig out anything I can to help. Chances are from the link twhitehousescat sent, they won!!!8217;t even have their paperwork in line to make a court application!0 -
I am astounded at this decision and frustrated that there doesn’t seem to be any recourse for further appeal. I don’t 2nt to pay the £100 fine, mainly on principle.
We agree, goodness knows where POPLA get these assessrors
from, do they just pick them up off the street
POPLA are now so unprofessional that kids could do better
POPLA are no good to man or beast and that is why
you should explain your story to Sir Greg Knight who
instigated the private members parking bill
We do not need POPLA and they can no longer be trusted
Sir Greg Knight

I doubt a real judge in court would agree with the
ridiculous POPLA decision
If the PPC wants to chance their luck, come back here0 -
This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences.
Parking Eye, Smart and a smaller company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (who take hundreds of these cases to court, and nearly always lose), who have also been reported to the regulatory authority.
The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind most of these companies may well be put out of business by Christmas. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
