Yes there is no aux position, when you switch the ignition to off the radio will go off but if you then press the volume knob, it will come on again. If you press while the engine is running, it will mute the sound.
Wrong. The volume knob is the power knob. Sorry to be blunt but, do you not think I would have tried that?
And of course pressing the volume/power knob while the engine is running will mute the sound as it will switch it off!
  • My car shuts the radio and other auxiliary systems down after 10 mins there is no ignition switch as such in my car, just a plastic card and start/stop button, however manually switching the radio on will keep things going for another 10 mins.
I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world

You must have the base model then!

What version of Yaris is it?
I've owned a Mk 2 and own a Mk3 (as far as I'm aware it also refers to the Mk 1) and with both it was/is possible to listen to the radio with the engine off. The ignition switch needs to be in the accessory or equivalent position though.

Is that the model with optional rear brakes?
