Everyone has moved to Linux Mint

Seriously thinking of that of my next machine. Mint as the main OS and VM machines for windows enviroments.

    Currently the other way around.

Windows 7 seems to be getting slower and slower, i know my machines old but i started in safe mode the other day and surprised at how quickly it ran.

Yes, I had updates yesterday and got a message around 5pm saying it would restart to complete at 6pm. I just hit restart now, went and had dinner. It was something to do with Adobe as it also updated just after the restart.

Mine seems to want to restart at 3am, well hard job as its turned off then.:D

Not sure how they manage 'Sneaky' Re-start. I always get a notification that one has been scheduled during my machines down time, unless I wish to restart now and install it.
If your machine wants to restart at 3am, it's because you have that set as outside your 'Active hours'. You can change those in the update settings.
Otherwise it will just update when you shut down and be ready when you open up again.
Personally, I've been lucky and not had any problems with updates. Touches wood...!

The problem with 'active hours' is that you can't set them to be long enough. I do have problems with this, finding that a computer has restarted (and sitting at a login screen) instead of sitting ready to serve my Plex library round the house. Please just ASK ME to restart, and I will!
