    #68 here

I'm VERY HAPPY to report that I have, as of today, reached my first milestone of the year - my lowest credit card has been paid in full and has a lovely shiny balance of £0!! Treating myself to a new rucksack which I've wanted for six months. And then from April it's onto the largest debt, as the interest free period ends in August. That debt is large (£2715) but after having paid off over £1500 in three months I'm feeling confident!

So, new totals paid off so far are: £1778.40/6136.40
    Credit Card total debt JAN 2017: [STRIKE]£6136.40[/STRIKE][STRIKE] £5297[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£4798[/STRIKE][STRIKE] £4358 :j[/STRIKE] £4278

    Hi All.
Can I get some opinions please. I have a bank loan that is due to be paid by the end of April 2018. I have just been given a rise at work and a bonus and have planned all my payments out over the rest of the year so I can pay it off 4 months early. My original plan was to pay off my monthly payments and to put the rest in bonds (in the hope of winning the million!) until I had enough to pay the balance, but I'm now wondering if I should just keep whacking the money off the loan in overpayments, which would reduce the interest (a little but it's still something) and then I can see it coming down quicker. I'd also love now to get it paid 5 months early since I know as long as nothing big crops up I can pay off at least 4 months early? Or perhaps I could keep £552 in bonds as emergency (a whole months payment) incase anything comes up (I'm pretty sure one of our cars will need sorting soon :/)
Just wondering what other people would do?
    Thanks
    FP

Hi guys, hope you're all well.

It's been ages since i've been on this website, but i've returned because i need to get my !!!! in gear. I've got myself in debt again and want to clear it all by Xmas. It's so depressing knowing i've let myself get into this pickle again.

Anyway, can i be added to this challenge? My debt is £3984.88

Thanks very much, good luck to all of us

We have had a very expensive month with DH wages (in a new role) and expenses much lower than expected (although the expenses should be back dated next month) and 2 large bills for maintenance and repairs that could not wait without causing further damage. A short break to pay for, a BNPL due for settlement, 2 big birthdays and their big nights out - it has all come at once this month.

This has meant we have had to use the CC again and are back to where we started at the beginning of the year

I am going to adjust my target down to £10,000 for the year as I do not think my original target of £20,000 is achievable with our reduction in income.

Please can you change #99 to £0/£10,000, thanks :)
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75

Number 39 and making a payment of £1,650. It almost killed me to pay such a large sum. But there it is. Done now.
Thank you muppet for calculating all our percentages :)
