Returning to work hit me like a truck!

Me too!! I got home last night and started with this awful headache - it felt like someone had taken the top of my skull off with a spoon!! I am quite a headachey person, and I suspect I was dehydrated. I went to bed at 8pm after taking painkillers and then woke up this morning with the headache still very much intact...

...a sausage sandwich seemed to sort it out this morning though :rotfl:

My miracle cure is Maltesers and black coffee, they can get me through anything.

I also find it helpful to get clothes etc ready for the next day. It saves time in the long run. I've even been known to get clothes sorted for the whole week - but not in summer as you never know what the weather will be like.

I'm quite proud of myself for having clothes and food ready the night before, it is definitely helping.

Also: today is the first day of the working week I haven't come home with a rotten stinking headache!!! :j

Trying to decide if I should go back on slimming world or stick to my 5:2 fasting... I say stick to even though I haven't had a fast day since before Christmas. I find it really hard to stick to without the structure of a work day. But now I'm back and don't have any significant time off now until March when it's my birthday, so I might stick it out until then and if I haven't lost any weight I'll get back on SW.

I lost 3 1/2 stone with SW at one point, years ago, but I've put most of it back on since, and I really hate artificial sweeteners so it wasn't always ideal for me... the 5:2 thing was recommended by my doctor as a flexible way to manage my emotional eating, and it's working for that although I'm not 100% sure how much weight it's shifting...

On the other hand, eating only some soup and poached eggs on toast 2 days a week is cheap!!!

I will probably stick to 5:2 until March and reassess...

Great one being organised! I find doing a little each day so much easier than ending up with loads to do.

So, I made it to Friday, woohoo! Had a productive day too really, so that's good. :j

Don't think I mentioned my super shoe bargain! :A I rarely buy shoes as they seem quite an expensive upfront cost, even at the lower end of the market. I'm a big fan of rocket dog, I have a pair of their penny loafers for work and some heavy black boots with lots of grip which are my winter-commute-to-work-shoes, but I wanted some smarter ones too, and also I like their little trainer type shoes.

Had a nosey at their website on the off-chance - mega sale!! Got a pair of trainers and some smart Oxford style shoes with free delivery for £28 - PLUS I had £10 sat in PayPal from a returned Christmas gift in December! So pleased. :T

Although maybe I shouldn't have worn brand new white shoes to work on a day when it was always going to snow... I did pretty well I must say. :D

Mum's away this weekend so introvert Popps is happy :) just me and the cat, nice and peaceful :A

Got a delivery today as well. I ended up with a few bargains because they'd run out of what I'd bought, so my substitutions were pretty generous

Going to have a whisky hot chocolate in front of the fire now - hope everyone has a blissful weekend

Great shoe bargain JWP :) I think it's best to hold out until the tail end of sales you can get come real bargains. I got a dress reduced from £55 to £20 and a coat reduced from £79 to £29 in the M & Co sale last week.

Had such a lovely weekend :)

Yesterday I made bolognese sauce, chilli and pea & ham soup - enough to have some of each one day a week for the next 3 or 4 weeks. I made the bolognese and chilli out of one 500g pack of mince, and added in lots of lentils and grated carrot to bulk it out. Made more of the chilli as that also had a tin each of kidney beans and black-eyed beans. Feel very organised; that's at least 2 nights and one lunch each week that I don't need to panic what to have!

I also edited 4 chapters of my book, :D which feels like a huge achievement because I was really struggling with one particular chapter, and although I think it still needs work I'm proud I managed to move past it and find bits of the story I'm really pleased with. Keeps me motivated :coffee:.

Today has also been busy: cleaned out the rabbits, swept the carpet in the hallway and on the stairs, tidied the living room, cleaned the bathroom (after having a lovely hot bath) and scrubbed the kitchen, including taking everything off my larder shelves, bleaching the shelves and reorganising everything so it's easy to see at a glance what I have in. Took 2 hours, but worth it! Also did 2 loads of washing and sorted clothes etc for every day next week. :A

I still need to tidy my bedroom, which isn't untidy so much as disorganised, but I'm going to go up to bed at abut 9 and do it then, before sleep.

My mum gets back from London tonight as well, although not until half 7. That gives me just enough time to edit another couple of chapters - I'm going to stick some jacket spuds in the oven at about 6 and we will have chilli on jackets for tea.

I love my mum, and I love my OH, but I also really love having a full weekend to myself to get things organised, and to recharge. Next weekend when they're both here will be nice but also exhausting.
