Mint flavoured peas.

Why is it that whatever brand of processed/marrowfat peas I see these days are mint flavoured?
A bit of mint with garden peas is ok occasionally, but IMO mint doesn't work in processed.

Where do you shop?0

Morrisons generally, but even Morton or Bachelors are now minty. Doesn't say on the front of tins, only in ingredients list.0

Well, you don't have to buy them! There does tend to be 20 varieties of peas on any shelf in any supermarket. Just buy one without mint. I'm not aware of any mint ones except, maybe, one out of the 20 varieties of tins on offer.
These peas aren't "food" they're products. This means you can always make your own, without mint
Question is .... are they gluten free, free from, sugar free, reduced salt, suitable for vegetarians, organic, fairtrade, free from nuts, clean food, low calorie ... minty peas? If not somebody on t'Internet will have a moan about it.

It's grim up north .
Buy Morrisons wholefood marrowfat peas and cook them yourself?
However I have bad memories of mother soaking peas in water with a weird little net thing, so I'd be wary ..0 -

I know I don't have to buy them Smart 4rse, My point is, that you need to check the list of ingredients because it doesn't state mint on the front. Just because you aren't aware doesn't make you right!0 -
Better than pea flavoured mints though.0

God, I need to find something constructive to do, there must be something that needs my attention more than whingeing about tinned peas!0

I heartily recommend switching to frozen peas, you can flash cook them if you like, I generally leave them to melt a little and pour a hot kettle over them, let them sit in the hit water briefly, and OMG they're adorable. Knob of butter if you like, but really no need
