Going from EE to BT, same issue?

Hi I used to be with Bt for phone and broadband and received a call from ee who bought it out for more than half price each month, been with ee for about 17 months now and the last month its been dreadful, so slow, buffering on everything, buffers on everything, to watch a 45 min programme it would take about 1hr 45min, tried everything pausing etc, turned light/electrics off like they said and even had a new broadband box from them but no change, even videos on facebook on phone buffer all the time, they checked my speeds on a online test and said its coming up as fast but its for sure not! and I am only using one item at a time ie not using laptop/tv/phone at same time.

I ws thinking of going back to bt but would I have the same issue as believe they are the same company now?
thanks

You'll be using the same wires whichever server
If speeds have dropped try getting them to check wires. I did and they found a dry joint between cabinet and house.

Is this buffering via ethernet cable ??
  • If you do a speed test with the computer connected to the router with an ethernet cable (do not ever do speed tests using wireless as it is pointless), what does it report?

Next, if you put your phone number in here https://www.dslchecker.bt.com/ what does it report?

If the ISP is overloading its external links, which is certainly possible if you buy at the Daewoo end of the ISP market, then you can find it is slow not because of your line quality but because of your ISP being rubbish, and changing to a new one could help.

You haven't said if you're on ADSL or FTTC.

thanks who does a wire test? does someone have to come out?

I have done test via wireless, and everything connects via wireless, we purchased a lan cable and its just the same if not worse.

We also got a replacement router from them.

Bufferes on anything to do with video, even if you paused something and left for a good few minutes its just the same, if your on facebook and you get the videos that start playing they just buffer.

I called ee yesterday and they said the same about would be same with different supplier, I have ordered for fibre optic which they said I should get about 28 speed as least.
