UK to Aus non-stop!

Qantas are going to start a London to Perth non-stop service http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-38280722
Though personally unless Perth/WA is your destination I can't see any great advantage to changing in Perth to get to other Aussie destinations than changing in SE Asia, I think I'd prefer a flight with a break nearer half way....but interesting news nonetheless.

I could see some advantage to clearing customs and immigration at Perth so when you reach your final destination you just grab your bags and go. Depends a lot on the flight timings though.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
