Am I right in saying that you had a ticket placed on your vehicle in Hillsborough, yet when the NTK arrived it said Middlesbrough was the location ?

If so, what location did the original ticket have on it - if it was the correct location then they may argue the toss as an 'admin' error which weirdly some judges may allow. The notice to Keeper gave the wrong location, so that should (?) prevent keeper liability, but they may still clutch to a case against the driver. I know you have given a defence saying that you wasn't at the said location, but have you admitted to being at the correct location where your vehicle was issued the ticket ?

By being complacent and not obtaining advice for your defence, believing that you had an 'open and shut' case was in my mind a mistake. I take it that you do not have legal knowledge of the law, so why risk winging it and losing the case just because you wasn't aware of some court direction or protocol.
PPc's and lawyers do not like backing down if there is a slim chance that they may be able to extract some cash from you - even if they just ask for the nominal admin costs. They probably deal with these errors by their staff all day long so, they are more than likely to have a contingency plan for when it happens.

Be warned, be prepared and good luck.
  • I do not have any original ticket and I do not what it says/said.

I haven't admitted anything. I have said that if they do have pictures, they will not be of a car park in Middlesbrough, but a car park in Hillsborough Leisure Centre which is 100 miles away.

That being said, I could have handled this differently. As suggested previously, I have always worked from the old advice which is to ignore PPC's. It seems that detail has long since changed and I only came to know this after i'd submitted the defence to court. Thus my thread here.
