EON website crashed

As I am waiting to change supplier to co-op I am on a high tariff and wanted to work out how much my final bill is likely to be

However EON website is not working :

"We're sorry but we're having a few technical issues with our site at the moment, we're working on getting it fixed as soon as possible. "

I have my meter readings but only the TCR not the actual tariff details and I seem to recall there is a calculation you have to do to convert your readings into KwH ? As all my bills are online can anyone help me with the conversion calculation ?

    The website is working now.
For electricity, the kWh is simply the difference between the readings.
Gas is more complicated, the formula will be shown on your bills and depends on whether you have a metric or imperial meter. For example, with a metric meter you would see something like this under the "Gas Readings" section:
    •260 units x 1.02264 (conversion factor) x 39.2 (calorific value) ÷ 3.6 (to get kilowatt hours) = 2895 kWh•

If you have an imperial meter (which reads in HCF or hundreds of cubic feet) there will an extra multiplication by 2.83 to convert the units into metric. You can check your meter to see what type it is by looking at the front for ft3 (imperial) or m3 (metric). Then confirm that your bills are for the same units.
The calorific value can, and often does, vary from bill to bill, but the change is usually only the last decimal digit and causes a very small difference to your monthly bill of typically less than £1.
On the E.On site there is an option in the billing section to download a copy of your bills in pdf format. Do this and you then have a permanent copy you can refer to without relying on their website.

Since the website appears to have been unavailable in the small hours of a Saturday morning, and that a message was given stating the website was currently unavailable (rather than a system generated error messgae) and was up and runmning by 8.00am, I suspect this planned maintenance and not a crash.

Either way, good to hear it was all up and running again by 8.00am.

I would always urge people to consult a comparison site rather than a single supplier's website - that way you get the best deal from the whole of market :)
(not to mention possible cashback from many suppliers if you use one of the links from this site to access the comparison site)

Just received a lovely letter from E.on saying how sorry I am leaving. Bless!

However no mention of a good rate to keep me. Oh well.
