Can anyone tell me if it's possible to change my tariff ?
Martin is always saying this is one of the highest tariffs but can I change it if it's fixed Until 2018?

Yes you can - and should - change, without penalty, from BG's Standard tariff.
You can change from any tariff, even if fixed; although on some tariffs there is an exit payment if you leave before the period of the fixed term.
In this case all BG have announced is their BG standard tariff rates will not change before 2018; which is not the most exciting news on the energy scene!0 -

If you are on a suppliers standard variable tariff, it is not a fixed tariff.
You cannot be put on a fixed tariff unless you have actively requested this and hence agreed to the terms applicable to that tariff.
Whatever tariff you are on, you can certainly switch. Even if you are on a fixed tariff, the worst that can happen is that you may suffer early exit fees. Refer to the terms and conditions applicable to your tariff.
It may stull be beneficial to switch even if there are some early exit fees to be incurred.
Consult a comparison site to find the best deal for you (but don't forget to include any early exits fees that may apply as comparison sites do not usually include those in their figure)
Edit: A couple of suppliers including BG have indicted they will not change their standard variable tariff (which as you know MSE Martin has indicated is already very expensive) prior to the end of March 2017 (so expect MSE Martin to start repeatedly asking them if they will be increasing those prices effective 01 April 2017 from anytime now), but that is not contractually binding.
I don't know of any supplier who would agree not to change prices until 2018
(unless bound by contract i.e. a fixed tariff, as that is supported by forward purchasing by them at an agreed price)
No one knows what the general market price will be next month, let alone in over 12 month's time.0 -
Thank you for you help I will look into it0
