Help with mobile or gadget insurance for devices bought outside the UK

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some advice on mobile and gadget insurance. I've recently bought an iPhone 7 from Jersey which is outside the UK. I've searched online to get it insured but all companies that I've been in touch with so far won't insure the phone because it was bought outside of the UK.
Does anyone have any tips or know somewhere that can provide insurance for it? I've been recommended to put it on the home insurance but was hoping for a gadget insurance as I've read that when using your home insurance it can take a while for it to go through etc.
Thanks for any help and suggestions.
