  • Hi Diary

Today I posted my painting, which cost me £12.98, but then I sold something on FB for £5 so I have basically spent £7.98 today. I hope to claw more back from sales on FB too.

I made banana bread from the bananas that I would have normally binned, and the while I was in the mood I made chappatti to go with the curry we had tonight! :A

All in all, quite a productive day! ::T

    Hi diary,

    Today has been a nsd!

The chest pain I have been experiencing for the last two weeks stopped me in my tracks today which is why it was a nsd. I have been wallowing in my pjs all day trying not to breathe too much.

I have an X-Ray due tomorrow so should rule out sinister possibilities and start proper pain med treatment. This appointment cannot come too soon.

My hubby was going to do 6 hrs overtime this week but due to a couple of emergency cpr cases he has jarred his already delicate back so has decided to give himself a lil break. What he doesn't realise is, now he has some free time I am going to make him call the water, mobile and virgin people to discuss payment options ( his name is on the accounts, not mine).

Fingers crossed I get good news tomorrow!

Oh, and I nearly forgot, I made a lovely pork and apple concoction for dinner tonight using up the pork chops that have been lurking in the fridge for a while and the Granny Smiths that were just hanging out. Very nice it was too!

  • OK - let's take a look. Comments in red.

None so bad - there are savings you can make there for sure, some easily, and some with a bit of effort. Also even a small increase in anything you can earn via surveys etc will make a difference.

Thanks for the comments on the mortgage-freeness by the way - very chuffed indeed to have finally got there! :D

Any advice re surveys etc drop me a message via pm or comment on my thread there is loads of sites i can recommend too boost your income.

I have made this year around 1000 pound.

This month alone i have just this week received 35 pounds from uk toluna.com,

Finally Essex i have reached the draw down mark with OnePoll.com and i should have 40 quid in my paypal in the next 28days hopefully.

From opinion outpost this month i have had ten pounds.

And a week or two back i received 30quid from global test market

And finally i got a 5pound voucher from isay for amazon a week ago.

  • Satellite/Cable TV...................... 49.1 You're going to look at this already aren't you

Yep, tv, phone and Internet package.

re this an option maybe ring them and ask too go too there lowest lowest package and ensure you pay via direct debit. We gerrrrr me and the ex paid 33quid for our Virgin media package but we rang them and did whats called a line rental saver.

This is basically where you pay all the phone line rental in one go, i think it was 180 pounds when we did it, but the consequence was it knocked our bill from 33 to 17 pounds a month. Another alternative is bin your virgin media tv package and take on now tv 6.99 a month. I would recommend now tv highly everything is on there and you have all the catch up services on the box.

Well worth the 20-30 quid initial out lay (use top cashback.co.uk too order the box)

Re switching everything off i would re everything even the virgin box sorry too disagree with you essex but a virgin installation engineer told us too do this as when you put the box back on it resets/prevents freezes in the guide/ and any updates virgin make will work more efficiently if you do this.

I was tight as hell even too the point re the kettle i would fill it just too the level i needed too make a cuppa, if going out the modem was switched off all lights. Net result of me being stingy was we got our electric bill from 40 quid to 24 a month.

  • I hope the X-ray goes ok today. Congratulations on the sale.
  • I didn't update yesterday, here's why!

I went to the nurse at gps surgery (which is attached to a cottage hospital) to get my 'slip' for an X-Ray after being told to get my boobs out and endure being 'manhandled', i was given a prescription for Oramorph (liquid morphine) and then I walked round to the X-Ray dept with my trusty slip. to be told I had to make an appointment and the next available on was Thursday at 4pm!

Great, so I got my prescription, went home, took a dose before walking the dog. Funny though, the sky was bluer, the clouds were whiter the breeze was soft upon my face.....

By the time I got back, I fed the dog and promptly fell asleep..... I woke in time to make hubby's tea then I went to bed and slept until just now!

Bit scared to take anymore loopy juice but the pain is excruciating (nurse now thinks costochonditis not pleurisy.)

Anyway, it wasn't hard to have another nsd yesterday!

That sounds like poo. COngratulations on the painting sale, sorry about the FIL.

For future use, when you do renew insurances or buy anything really, worth going to quidco first to see what offers they have on.
So do your comparisons, then go to quidco and see if they have any offers with the ones you fancy. Also works for normal shopping type things, free to join. I got £75 back last year from house insurance, took a while to pay out, but it's money for nothing...

  • I spent money today

I spent £41.36in town today on things we needed to tide us over until after Xmas.
    Shopping list:
Burners for e-cigs and oil (£5 off with loyalty card)-£20.99
Milk, bread, butter, Xmas chocolate, 2 morrisons salads and 2 plastic bags grrr £20.37

I have bought fil's pressie which I budgeted £20 but only spent £6 on garden plants that were worth £26 (an offer I found on mse) so I can now add that money to my budget to keep us fed until Jan 6th.

Hubby was reimbursed some money he was owed into his bank account £211 tax and £139 the phone company.

Hubby overdraft is now £2900 with nothing due out before payday on 21st Dec.
My payment for selling my painting will be in my account on 5th Jan which will put me @£150 in credit!

Making this months debt payments £350 with £150 extra! I will review this nearer the time.

I have signed up for surveys but it seems I don't have the right criteria. I think u need to have children and buy branded stuff to qualify, otherwise it throws you out! I haven't found one that has let me complete it yet!

I have sold one thing on my FB groups for £5 which went into the groceries pot.

My Fil is suffering quite a bit and my mil is not coping well with his prognosis either. Everything is a little emotional at the moment, so I apologise if I don't update every day until things settle into a groove.

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
PF - I was given morphine and Oramorph when I had an emergency op early this year. It didn't agree with me. I was seeing things. Admittedly when you are in pain it is just about getting out of it but still...

Don't worry about daily updates, not a priority, only if you feel up to it.
