Santander new id

Tried to log into my Santander 123 acc and it says I need to create a new customer I'd. They have sent me one or I can create my own does this seem ligit thanks

    well... have you logged in before? did you just type in santander.co.uk into your browser or click a link from somewhere? details details :D
  • I always go on to the Santander website and go to log on to my account but when I went on tonight it said I needed to create a new personal I D and gave me an option of selecting one they had sent me or creating one myself it said they were upgrading online banking and making it easier to log in. I think I will give them a ring in the morning.

    Sounds suspect. I would expect notification in advance of such a change.

    I've just logged in to my Santander account without being prompted to create a new ID.

    If I were you I'd contact Santander to see what they say. Probably best to call using a number printed on a recent statement rather than search online. I'd be concerned my computer has been compromised.
  • Sounds weird to me. Never been asked to create new ID with Santander. In fact it is a number which was gibven by them in first place so not even sure how you would do it. I would ring them too.

    This has just happened to me. Locked out of my acc for the third time in 18 months. Says does not recongise credentials. :mad:Time for a FOS complaint and ditch me thinks its gonna be a right pita to sort all payees and dds etc.:mad::mad:

    update- must be a glitch can log in now. But will not let me transfer funds!
    3.55kw 2 systems 2.3 se 1.25 sw installed may 2011 and oct 2011..

    I have never been mis sold anything but i have bought a few things i didnt need!

    Santander have definitely upgraded their systems. In the old system you had a 9 digit userid and a 5 digit PIN to log in. The new system requires a 10 digit userid, a password and a PIN. They didn't force people to upgrade to the new system - I asked to upgrade as the login is obviously more secure as it required both password and PIN. Maybe now they are making people on the old system upgrade?

    I opened a 123 account with Santander nearly 4 years ago; I had a 10 digit ID, 8 digit passcode and 5 digit registration number (PIN) from the start -so this must only apply to longer term customers being changed over.

    I use the old system & the wife uses the newer system for our joint accounts. I've just logged on & nothing has changed here.
    Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.
  • Same here login on pc and mobile to find nothing is unchanged and do not have to create a new id

    i have
    10 digit customer id
    10 digit passcode/word
    5 digit security number

    been with them less than 3yrs

    All ok today they must have been up to something last night or their the new tesco's. And no i was not on the :beer: beer!
