Give Malc a break, I'm sure he doesn't set the prices!

Spot on Eric. I can certainly say, I've absolutely no involvement with prices at all.

Doubt E-on will give figures about customers lost/gained as this would help their competitors. Also although they have no doubt lost customers their last deal for new customers was quite good and would have increased their numbers.

Incidentally regarding asking for information I asked Malc and he agreed, to provide some feedback from the senior managers response to the numerous complaints on this forum, which he said was been passed up the line.

I am still waiting for a response to that, any comments on that Malc?

Sorry FOREVER21, I thought I'd explained on other threads, all the feedback Helena and I received about our Saver Tariffs (offered to new customers only) was sent to the right people here at E.ON. It's playing a part in our ongoing product review. For instance, the Reward Tariffs released last week are aimed only at selected existing dual fuel customers currently on versions 18 and 19 of our Fixed 1 Year tariff.

I can understand why this isn't clear as the review is very much in the early stages and initial offerings have been more about our wider customer base rather than MSE regulars. Hopefully, the impact of the feedback will become clearer in the coming months as we continue to test the waters and tailor our tariffs accordingly.

Many thanks to you and to other MSE contributors for this feedback. It really did help focus attention on the need to make our tariffs more appealing over a wider area.

  • So the beaks Malc have focussed the new products on us V19 customers.
For me that means the new focus has produced a rise of £1205pa to £1627pa or 35%
So the fact that is also 15% more expensive than the dual fuel competition means they think we will remain loyal ?
Actually you are 25% more expensive if I go down elec & Gas sperate route.
How would you pitch to me to stay with EON please as I would love too.
My offer does not even appear to have the voucher sweeteners.
  • Just an update on what I can get if anyone has a view.

Dual Fuel Robin Hood Variable Est £1421pa Can exit anytime without penalty.
Dual Fuel EDF Blue+ Dec2017 Est £1459 again exit penalty free.

What i like the look of is as follows
Gas Better Energy Fixed till Jan 2019 (2 Years) Est £503pa Exit £30 (These guys only do Gas)

    Coupled with
Elec M&S 2 Year Fix Est £882 No Exit Fees Cashback £15 Vouchers £40

This one not the cheapest but gives me both Gas & Elec on a 2 year fix for est £1385

Any opinions on 2 year speculation ?

Also does going back from a single supplier to 2 suppliers cause any nightmares ?
  • @superbigal36
I had no issues going from dual fuel to 2 separate suppliers. They moved at separate times so I lost a bit of the dual fuel discount from my old supplier, but nothing to worry about.

You're right superbigal36. Ongoing Rewards and Price Alerts aren't available with our Fixed 1 Year version 21 tariff. Neither are they with the Reward tariffs but, with these, eligible customers who switch to them will receive e-vouchers worth either £75 or £100. These can be used at retail outlets like Argos and Amazon. Both offers are similarly priced and both still have dual fuel and paperless billing discounts as well as lower daily standing charges for paying with a Monthly Direct Debit.

As our product review unfolds, I expect to see different variations of tariffs and offers but, as of today, the only tariffs we've available are those I've mentioned here.

Sorry this isn't what you want to hear superbigal36 and totally understand you want the best possible deal. You're doing the right thing in looking at the comparison sites to find what's right for you.

You know where I am if you need any help with the E.ON side.

I am considering going with Better Energy as the price is good and the two year fix very attractive. Not sure what to do about electricity though, considering Robin Hood as it is the cheapest for me but concerned about it being a variable rather than fixed option. My second option for electricity would be So Energy fixed for 12 months. 2 suppliers seems to be the way forward.
