Malc Eon conflicting info on same day !!!

So I get an email from Eon this morning as my 1Year V19 ends on 24th January.
I now quote
"To keep it simple we have no more than four core tariffs, our cheapest fix for you is E.ON Energy Fixed 1 year v20 blah blah blah

Now I know this is going to be horrendous but blow me down with a feather.
As soon as i click the link to have view at the £52.38 I will save against the standard Tariff what do I see.

Well no v20 !!!!! Bare in mind this is just after receiving the email
What I now am offered is 1 year v21 !!!!
Fair enough the saving is 25pence per year more. (No sarcasm required)

So as I assume v20 has been on the go for nearly a year, have i just been incredibly unlucky to get my email today and miss out on the incredible offer ? :eek:

Will I get another email shortly apologising that the tariff for me 5 minutes ago is no longer ?

    As far as i can tell, they have just renamed V20, V21 i.e virtually no difference in cost or savings?

    It just seems to be little more than a PR exercise?

    Hello superbigal36 and sorry for the confusion.

    Today, we replaced our Fixed 1 Year version 20 tariff with version 21. The prices are virtually the same and there are still no exit fees for changing supplier. Where it differs is E.ON Rewards and online Price Alerts aren't available with version 21.

    This is another part of our ongoing product review as we look to invest in tariffs that better appeal to our customers. It supplements the trial I spoke about in a separate thread where we're offering Fixed 1 Year tariffs with £75 and £100 Rewards to selected existing customers.     We're looking to take lessons from both offers to help us redesign a new product portfolio for 2017. As I mention in the other thread, totally understand these offers won't appeal to everyone, particularly MSE regulars, but we need to look at how best to look after our entire customer base. It's all a bit experimental at the moment but things should become clearer in the coming months.

    As you're currently on version 19, you'll have received the email as the tariff is approaching its end date. These emails go out automatically and pick up the best tariff we have available at that time. This would've been version 20 as the email went out before version 21 was released.

    Sorry again for the confusion but hope this explains.

    Consult a comparison site - you'll have a lot more then ...and probably be able to save a pretty penny :money:

    You're right superbigal36, we've only the two tariffs available through our website at the moment. We can have up to 4 at any one time though. Sorry for the confusion.

    I was directed to 4 Tariffs of which only a total of 2 existed.
    The particular tariff I was directed to does not exist.

    That is excellent customer service information.
    Possibly I will gamble and wait a couple more weeks to see if EON produce ANY tariff that is more competitive before I make the surefire exit.

    However as the boffins at Eon clearly dont want us V19 savvy savers no more I suspect adios amigo


    As a sidenote Malc could you realise figures for new customers EON has achieved in last couple of months ? Would be really interesting to see if they can be counted on your fingers ? or are there really switchers who would enticed ?

    Doubt E-on will give figures about customers lost/gained as this would help their competitors. Also although they have no doubt lost customers their last deal for new customers was quite good and would have increased their numbers.

    Incidentally regarding asking for information I asked Malc and he agreed, to provide some feedback from the senior managers response to the numerous complaints on this forum, which he said was been passed up the line.

    I am still waiting for a response to that, any comments on that Malc?

    Morning superbigal36 and, yes, at the moment there's only 2 tariffs available through our website. There could, though, be up to 4 depending on what we've available at the time. Sorry the email doesn't make this clear.

    Sorry, too, you received an email telling you about version 20 and this wasn't available when you looked. This was a timing issue. At the time the email was automatically generated, version 20 was still available but it was removed virtually straight after so version 21 could be launched.

    As FOREVER21 says, we wouldn't put commercially sensitive information on a public forum.
