Extension on a new build?

We're looking at a new build currently undergoing construction. It's one of eight houses, and although we love the location and the house design none of them are quire right! One is very close to being perfect, but we really need an additional room. Would it be cheaper to negotiate with the developer to add this to the…

I'm not saying the developer won't do it but it's not just a case of casting up the extra bricks

And there is no permitted development on a house that hasn't been built. Permitted development extensions have to be built after the house. The developer would have to obtain planning permission. I cannot see them being interested. The project materials and labour will have been planned out for the development already.
