Avoid BT Mobile

I took a sim only contract for my son and his number was due to be ported 30th November. Everyday I have called and been told 24hrs it will be sorted.
I have now been told we may have an incoming service by the end of today but it will be another week before he can use an outgoing service. They have said it is totally a BT Mobile system fault and they are having many issues, hopefully he will not lose his number but they cannot confirm.
I am currently housebound following hysterectomy and it has been a nightmare trying to contact him. They have now said go and purchase a PAYG sim and they will credit the bill but I cannot leave the house and they will not serve a 15 year old buying a sim.
If you are considering porting your number to BT at the moment I would hang on as it seems it is a big issue and they are having to rebuild lots of accounts.

Can you not order one online, or demand they mail you one?
Thanks for the warning...Evolution, not revolution0 -
Seeing as BT Mobile a. don't offer PAYG SIMs and b. don't have any physical shops they'll have a hard job selling your 15 Y.O son a SIM!
As they now own E.E. if you've a local £1 store there's nothing to stop your son calling in there and buying one of their PAYG SIMs-hopefully it should be easier from their end to stop your son losing his number surely? It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -

Rereading the OP, I presume they mean he must just go and get any PAYG sim just to use for outgoing calls while they wait for the port to be resolved and they'll credit the BT account with credit to cover the cost.As they now own E.E. if you've a local £1 store there's nothing to stop your son calling in there and buying one of their PAYG SIMs-hopefully it should be easier from their end to stop your son losing his number surely?
EE and BT Mobile are still completely separate entities, there's no chance of BT Mobile being able to do anything with an EE sim.====0 -
