I'm not putting anyone off, just pointing out that your original suggestions might not apply in the OPs case.

The OP says "I am trying to save up but it is hard since I am moving and need to buy a duvet and also save up for train tickets for my appointment at a hospital." so to me that would suggest they have little resources to fall back on.

As for people having funds in the bank I'm one of those people lol. Just because I could cover myself it does not mean everyone can.

The budgeting loan is the only decent suggestion you have posted. You failed to mention they have to have been claiming benefits for 26 weeks to be eligible for one.

I don't know what issue you have with missapril, but they are trying to help the OP, which is far more than you have done.

You really are not very good at this reading lark are you.

Have another look at my post. I'll help again by reproducing the relevant part.

"Ah, I hear you say, but they may not have been claiming for the required time..."

You'd have been on safer grounds by helpfully saying something like "the required time being 26 weeks" but, no, you had to turn it into something negative again.

I'm bowing out now before I catch your Marvin attitude.

I didn't mean to start an arguement. I just don't understand how others do it. If I find work right now I really want to but how do I pay my electricity, water, food and gas? So I go a month without much of this? It is unbelievable. When I get a job I'll be happy ofcourse but hang on a second I might not actually make it to work as I might die of starvation or freeze to death! Amazing but hey atleast I managed to get a job right?

Well I haven't found a job. I'm not sure what you mean by everything...I get £115.80 every 2 weeks JSA. I pay £15 for electricity for 2 weeks then another £15 for gas for 2 weeks. Then about £20 a week for food and toiletries. TV license £12.12 a month. Water £20 a month. So I'm left with £13.68. Although this time I had to pay for my train ticket for my medical appointment.

Work out your absolute essential requirements (ie. maybe this month you'll cut down on electricity and gas, use a hot water bottle and clothes to keep warm, buy cold food that don't need cooking, use everything that is left in your cupboard, and then work out how short you'll end up.

When you get a job, ask if there is any chance to get payment weekly rather than monthly, at least the first month. Are you saying that you don't have one friend or family member who would be prepared to give you £10 if they knew that it meant you could start working?

Alternatively, since you don't have a job at this moment, can't you go to the food bank now and get items you can store to use when you find yourself in the situation you are worried about?

I don't use gas I mean the £15 is after I cut down I only put the heating on when I have a bath which is maybe 3 times a week for an hour. And after I wash my clothes to dry them for about an hour once a week. I guess I could try cold food. Well I could ask them but I'd rather not. I guess I could always go to the foodbank thanks for the help.

Some employers pay weekly. The company I work for does.

I'd suggest you speak to someone in the Department of work and pensions about how you could be supported from benefits into work.

Its a situation many people will find themselves in but in the long run there are more positives than negatives to being in work

I've been unemployed and gone from benefits into work. I think you need to find a job first and in the meantime look into all the options and support there is.

Have you checked whether you are entitled to help with travel expenses to hospital?

Can I ask what company that is? It would be useful for me. You could always private message me if not that's fine.

Yeah I mean I don't understand how people can not be in this position unless they have families who have money to help them out.
