    I know, but the point the judge made was that he wasn't guilty of ANY motoring offence because it was an "emergency".

    You should be notified, either at the time of the offence or within 14 days, if you are easy to contact (i.e. all correct details on record, you own the car etc). If not notified then you have a defence, though the original poster decided to pay the fine rather than argue their case, plus we don't really know how long "a few months" actually was.

    This whole story sounds fisher than Billingsgate market. The time frame doesn't add up. The threshold for enforcement doesn't stack up. No mention of a speed awareness course or returning a section 172 form.

    Courts don't use email either. No mention of points too.

    Sorry but none of this rings true.

    Even if that was the case, They still wouldn't have been prosecuted.
    The TARDIS doesn't have registration plates so there wouldn't have been a registered address to send the paperwork to.
