One of my deliveries came early, so I ended up with three yesterday. Scampi was very vocal with each one and I couldn't keep him calm, when the third arrived I just said 'yes I know, thank you' and he stopped barking. Can't believe I thanked a dog for telling me someone is at the door. Also can't believe it worked, lol.
I always thank the dogs for telling me the postie's been, or there's someone just gone past the bungalow, or there's a squirrel in the back garden.:rotfl:
"Yes, thank you, <insert dog's name> you've told me, now there's no need to go on about it".:rotfl:

Had a good night sleep with weird but funny dream about mariachi bands, strange thing to dream about, perhaps it's because I am thinking about next Friday. I have been asked by DS to play guitar and sing in an Italian place for a friend of his his setting up Italian evenings. Should rehearse, really, but I am sure even if I don't, I will remember a few songs from the Ol' Country! Should be fun.
You should rehearse, specially if you haven't sung for a while, to warm up your voice. ;)

We are waiting in for someone to come and look at the leak in the roof Mr LW found when he went up in the loft yesterday. I don't think the chap's actually going to turn up today. I have a long list for @ldi, and of course I'm not able to shop on my own any more. I am losing the will to live. :(
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Afternoon - and it's still grey and wet outside, though not cold. I can hardly see the hills or sea because of the low cloud and mist and Jura has vanished.

This is my view now - and it looks bluer than it is outside -

TA - such great news! _party_ I can just imagine your relief.

My meeting was extremely useful and productive so I left it a very happy bunny indeed. My colleague managed to find his way through a very tricky qualification equivalency mapping process for me and now I know exactly what my students have to do to complete. The good news is that most of them can already be certificated without any further work which means no further drama from me or them! Only one needs to do work so it'll be more of a tutorial than anything whilst the remainder can get on with their main subject projects. My relief at this is huge, not as huge as TA's but still... :rotfl:

I've designed some assessment forms and emailed them out; banked my HMRC refund check and spend £12.00 in the shop which masquerades as a supermarket. Two YS ping meals for today and tomorrow and a few odds and sods. I want to keep a record of my spending as I do most of it without any thought, I need to get my savings pots refilled next year. Two flights to Australia in six months wasn't helpful to the bank balance.

Right, TV catching up time again. Yesterday I caught up with Robbie Williams, Dr Blake and Judge Rinder.

Hi sorry I've been Awol again but life has got in the way again.

Husband finished work last Wednesday. He was sad to go. Difficult to adjust to him been around although tv planner is slowly been deleted and Christmas presents have been wrapped.

Daughter has completed her Gcse mocks today and son still needs to finish his UCAS form. Health has been a bit up and down including a couple of bad panic attacks and today a vile headache which has seen me be in bed most of the day. Waiting for antidepressants to kick in.

Husband has two interviews today so fingers crossed.
Hope meetup in Kent went well.

Hugs to those who want /need them.
• Does the covering have to be solid material or is it just to keep the hens away from actual contact with any wild birds? If it could be net then garden centres sell all grades of nylon netting usually pretty wide from the weight that is heavy enough for climbers to go up to fine netting that keeps butterflies out the mesh size might need only to be small enough to keep small birds out of the run. Much cheaper perhaps than having to buy tarpaulins, might be worth a look but check the DEFRA website to get specifics first they will be bound to give full advice of their requirements.

I think the domestic birds need to be protected from wild bird's droppings and germs, not just the actual birds presence.

Hi all,

The meet was lovely, great to catch up with old acquaintances and meet new OSers, as always. We had a fun afternoon.

LW I sing a lot in church so my voice should be ok, I hope, provided I don't catch DH's cold.

Goid night.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
