ISP suggestions

I'm currently with BT (infinity1), but am looking to try and get a cheaper deal.
I was initially thinking of plusnet, but due to bad reviews, I've had second thoughts. I began thinking about Origin, but again there seems to be negativity towards them.
I'm looking for a provider who doesn't throttle speeds or apply restrictions, but could also beats my current BT prices.
Can fellow forumites make any suggestions as to where to look?

I've been with Origin fibre for three months now and have found them to be excellent. Line speed seems very stable and there is certainly no throttling.

They actually use the Vodafone fibre backbone network (ex Cable & Wireless). The UK call centre is easy to contact and I secured a pretty good deal by paying 18 months up front.

I was with Plusnet (who I found to be good), but when they hiked up their prices and wouldn't negotiate I left them for Origin.

Not sure if Up speed is important to you, but Plusnet cap this at 2Mb whereas Origin is 10Mb.

If you are looking for an ISP without complaints you'll spend a long time looking. If you think you will need a lot of hand holding to get a new router working then maybe moving is not for you. If you are technically competent then you could probably choose any ISP.

FWIW I'm with Plusnet (with 20Mbps up as I chose the top package which currently costs me 12.50 + LR) and their service works fine but I've only had to deal with their TS twice - once right at the start because they'd failed to set my account up then later when I already knew the issue was a line fault and fortunately the BTw tester agreed so I didn't need to jump through hoops and spend forever calling them to get an Oprenreach bloke out to fix it.

Learning a bit about the technology you are buying goes a long way towards getting the best service your line can suport.
