It's a bit risky putting such open details on here... if someone else is interested in buying it, and sees this post via some googling on the house, they'll have an idea what to do to get the house over you and no more.0

And 20k more seems to get you some properly nice detached homes within 3 miles. That's where I'd be looking.0

This one is only half a mile away, looks like a better house in a nicer area for 25% less.

And it's away from the railway line....iantojones40 wrote: »This one is only half a mile away, looks like a better house in a nicer area for 25% less.

But none of us knows the nuances of the area, only that the period one is less of a formula package.0 -

This would be more appealing to local buyers for two reasons. 1) There is a driveway at the front of the house so that when you arrive back from the supermarket you can unload the shopping and the children enter the house through the front door without having all the fuss of driving round to the back and opening the gates into the back garden that you have with the period terraced house. 2) People aspire to own a detached house not an end of terrace. End of terraces only become desirable if they are in extremely upmarket areas not like the area that this one is in.
This makes the end of terrace very overpriced.0 -

I don`t see that mentioned in the piece? Of course London sales from the desperate bid to stoke a final bubble will have boosted sales in other parts of the UK, and that will stall when London pops of course.0 -
Of course, of course...:DCrashy_Time wrote: »I don`t see that mentioned in the piece? Of course London sales from the desperate bid to stoke a final bubble will have boosted sales in other parts of the UK, and that will stall when London pops of course.0 -
Oh Crashy do you really have nothing better to do with your time than try and scare FTBers when they are already making the biggest purchase of their life?
Posting links to the same articles across numerous threads is hardly making anyone listen to you anymore than they did before...
OP, only you know what you think the property is worth, but it does seem to be overpriced given the surrounding area properties which are available. If proximity to the train station is a hugely important factor for you, put in an offer that you can afford, but remember that if you are going for a mortgage the valuation may differ from what you have offered.
Best of luck
Let’s just pretend I have not been alternately drowning in debt or only eating toast to try and pay it off for the last 20 years 😭0
